Recently my friend TNT went to a Vanilla Ice concert and was able to conduct a short interview. Here it is about the new album and the future for the Ice Man.

TNT- First of all I want to thank you for agreeing to let me interview you.

Ice- Hey, no problem always happy to talk to my fans.

TNT- K, first of all let my ask something that has been a debate on the vanillaice.com forum for a long time, was the song freestyle really a freestyle.

Ice- Of Course, that's why it's called freestyle. People doubt that?

TNT- most do, you would be surprised.

Ice- well it is

TNT- Ya I never doubted it. On your new cd Platinum Underground, you put two songs from your last cd, Bi-Polar and also two remakes, Ice Ice Baby and on Dun Nat which is the lyrics to hip hop rules. Can you tell why you decided to put old material on a new cd?

Ice- To tell you the truth, this is a transition album. I felt for Dun Nat I could put some of my favorite lyrics from the last cd on it, because it was made for the "Remaking" television show. So it is a REMAKE. And Ice Ice Baby I did for "hit me baby" another television show. So I stuck that on there too. With O.K.S and Detonator. I wanted them to be on the cd because they are great songs and I want to get them out there for the public to hear.

TNT- And you cut some songs?

Ice- Ya, a couple

TNT- why was that?

Ice- not completed in Time, but don't worry I will be releasing another cd faster then I have in the past. And they will be on there.

TNT- How quick are we talking about?

Ice- Less then 4 years, most likely a little over a year.

TNT- That soon?

Ice- Ya, I have been touring almost non- stop since 98 and it has effected the cd's that have come out since then. I am going to take my time on then next one. Cut down touring a bit. For I while here I will be touring to promote the new Cd but after that will back down a bit and start working on the new cd.

TNT- What kind of artists will you be working with?

Ice- Well first of all I am getting a couple different producers signed on to work with along with a few featured artist. Some big names, but as of now no one is confirmed so I can't really say.

TNT- Its seems that your new cd is having problems getting into big retailers and getting the promotion it needs, how will you get your next cd out to the public

Ice- The next one will be on a major label. It will be released world wide, I can say that for sure it will have a video and advertisements in major publications. With a major label comes better promotion.

TNT- Can you tell me what label?

Ice- Not as yet, No, but you will be the first to know (Laughter)

TNT- And will all the cut songs from the past be on there, what is there in total like 5?

Ice- more like ten, but ya all the cut hip hop tracks will most likely be on there.

TNT- Including that Eminem diss, where you tell him to go back to Detroit wearing panties?

Ice- (laughter) Ya that will be on the next one for sure. It keeps getting pushed back to the next project, but I can tell you it will be on the next one.

TNT- What ever happened to Rod J?

Ice- Man we still keep in touch, he was just tired of touring that all. It's funny you mention him because we have been talking and I want to get on board with him to produce a Cd.

TNT- His Cd?

Ice- Ya, Hopefully I can produce a handful of tracks if not the whole cd. It all depends on my schedule.

TNT- Well it sounds like your going to be busy

Ice- Ya man that's how I like it.

TNT- There has been concerns by fans that you reuse to many lyrics how would you respond to that?

Ice- Well I get attached to some lyrics from the past and I know they would sound sweet on a new track so I spit them, The truth is though I have been getting a lot of flack and I understand where people are coming from so in the future I will keep it more original.

TNT- cool, well that's all I have for ya, thanks for your time man, and good luck with the new cd.

Vanilla Ice- Thanks Man
