Do You Know God?
By Maria L. Arellano
God is holy, righteous and just. He is the creator of the whole world. One day He will  judge everyone in this world. It will be a dreadful day for many. " . . .man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment." (Hebrews 9:27) Are you ready to meet God?

There is no one who will escape His judgment. No one will be able to say to God, "God, I've been a good person, I've never hurt anyone." Many people are mistaken because they think that they will go to Heaven because they have been good. Yet the bible says:
"As it is written: 'There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one." (Romans 3:10-12)

The Bible says that everyone breaks God's Laws (which by definition is sin) and He is angry with those who practice sin. God's holiness and God's justice demand that all sin (great or small) be punished by death!
"For every living soul belongs to me, the father as well as the son - both alike belong to me. The soul who sins is the one who will die." (Ezekiel 18:4)    ". . . the wages of sin is death. . . " (Romans 6:23)

The Bible teaches that everyone sins,
". . . there is no one who does not sin . . ."
(1 Kings 8:46) It also says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23). Only those individuals who know God will escape God's judgment! Do You Know God?

THERE IS GOOD NEWS!

Because God is merciful and loving, He has provided a way to escape this judgment to come. The only way to be rescued or saved from God's  wrath is to believe in the Son of God for the forgiveness of sins. The Bible says: "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's  wrath remains on him." (John 3:36) " For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God . . . " (1 Peter 3:18)

Jesus is the Son of God who paid the penalty for the sins of those who would believe in Him. He was put to death on a cross, was buried and three days later He rose from the grave.
In order for you to escape God's judgment you must turn away from your sins and put your trust in Christ alone
" . . . he commands all people everywhere to repent." (Acts 17:30)
" . . . he is able to save completely those who come to God through him . . ." (Hebrews 7:25) There is no other way to God but through Jesus Christ alone.

Jesus claimed to be the only way in a setting where there were so many beliefs in so many gods. He said,
"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)
If you have put your trust in an organization, a leader of a Church or any other belief system you will not be saved!
"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's  wrath remains on him." (John 3:36)

No one will be accepted by God because they have been good or nice to everyone.  No one will be accepted by God on account of their Church membership, because they go to Church every Sunday or  based on their many hours of work in religious service or activity.
So what kind of work does God require? Jesus said
"The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent." (John 6:29) This my dear friend is Good News!
