Serenity--Based on badly marketed but very smart TV series, Firefly. Serenity gives us the impossible enough information that you need not have seen the series to watch it and if you have seen the series it still has enough new stuff to keep you in your seat.  This series is something between a western and sci-fi.  Looks of action and character development.  Check this one out.

Beowulf--starring Christopher Lambert.  This is an interesting adaptation of the epic poem that you read in high school.  Its a bit unusal and far from the mainstream.

Attlia--starring Gerard Butler.  This movie is a pretty decent epic.  Its around three hours long so be prepared for a lengthy journey.  It shows the other side of Attlia, the humane side that they don't teach you about in school.
