At the second to the last canal, Casartes is swallowed by a tendriculos, but the adventurers slay the thing and actually make camp in the middle of the canal using the plant-monster as a raft. They hear drums and chanting late that night and enter the temple.

They fight a feindish giant constrictor snake and two strange undead guards, and then find their way into the Banda’s rooms. The headhunter priests throw everything they have at the invaders, but the party wins. Their leader, Saeng Ki, offers to hand over Varden and Andrinor to the adventurers if they’ll leave, but Devin attacks her and soon she and her tiger are dead.
