YAYATI

For long
I had been eager
to get back
my lost childhood.
In you
I discovered it
once again.

For long
I have been nostalgic
of my fierce youth.
In you I get back
those days again.

I live now
on a borrowed time,
the eternity
is yours alone,
my son !

A MAN BEYOND THE DOOR

Firm, moveless:
a man beyond the door
like a candle-statue
melting away every moment
in glowing fire.

Every moment he melts away
throwing in silence
arrows and spears of light.
Every moment he melts away,
gets rebuilt next moment.

Darkness reigns
beyond the man-beyond-the-door;
this side of the door
the revelry of a party :
psychedelic neon-lights
livening blare of music
everything mobile
and ecstatic.

Eyes turn moist
and then wavy.
And then we see
beyond the door
a fresh blue darkness.
There he stands
a shadow
a man
even firm and moveless
like a translucent god !

Beyond him,
nothing.
