The pictures below are of the Square as it is today,you can compare these with the old black and white pictures,these where taken between 1920-1960.The Square was orginally laid out in 1880 as the main City route to Limassol.The locality was called Hadjisavvas after the man who owned the land.In the 1940s the Square was renamed Metaxas Sq after the Greek War Time Primeminister,the name stood untill 1975.Today the Square is the official City Centre.
