Candles In The Rain
(For Varsha)

The clouds were heavy with pain

In the dark blue mountrous night

Nothing could be seen or felt.

In a cavernous room sadness slept

The sun was afraid of man's machine

The aching earth was near nuclear melt.

The fire of lust leaked only smoke

Warmth and tender touch was a homeless child

I shivered in a perilous pelt.

Destiny's doom warned a thunder

The flood short circuited the conduits of desire

Under the dense darkness I knelt

Then you lit candles in the rain

Words lilting light in the night

The hardened heart miraculously melt.
