9-1-1 One morning from the Sky came an awful clap of Thunder. The world was waking up in an unfamiliar place. A shattering end to the dream that we were under. My sister woke me up and this look was on her face. The world was waking up to a scarier place. Panic in the streets like Godzilla on his way. My sister woke me up, tears falling on her face and I was late for work I couldn't tear myself away. Panic in the streets like Godzilla on his way. Flames are belching hot in the New York State. I was late for work, how do you tear yourself away? Ludacrous the irony in today's date. Flames are belching hot in the New York State. Heaving with smoke the giant towers gave away. Ludacrous the irony in today's date. How many lives in the mess are swept away? In a sigh of smoke the giant brothers give away A sick knot sat like a rock in my stomach. How many families in the mess are swept away? in the dust and the chaos and the sadness and the soot. A sick rock sat like a knot in my stomach. The Tower tarot card is ruled by Mars the God of War. In the dust and the chaos and the sadness and the soot Nobody's life is as simple as before. The world was waking up in an unfamiliar place A shattering end to the dream that we were under. My sister woke me up, tears falling on her face One morning from the Sky, an awful clap of Thunder. |

* I am Canadian and I was living in my hometown of Vancouver, BC on September 11, 2001. I worked in the Rogers Cantel Twin Towers, and after watching the planes crash on television that morning, I had to walk to work. You can see the towers as you approach from several blocks away. With those horrific images still fresh in my mind, I had to sit down for a moment by the fountain before entering, wondering what the rest of the day would hold, and what cities might be targeted next. I thought the whole world might be destroyed - and for some, it was. * |
