the beauty.
the beauty
of snow white lying with men
and your wintery symphony
drawing me in
to this sin
raining down
and then splashing around
and me stomping thru
deep puddles of you.

great puddles of meltings and
heart wretch-ed beltings
and wringing ice out of our
wet things and felt things.

our hats and our glvoes
and our white noise and love
thawing out under heat
to play without beat
a jazz
in those miracle
white city streets
of the winter.

tonight is the night
i become one with me
tonight i can reach
all the stars in the sea
of filthy black
glittering
littering eternity
and draw them all down
into me.

tonight is the night
that i won't forget
i'll look back someday
and never regret
the mingling of chemists
and not be upset
at myself for exposing
the suede to the wet

and laying it down with one bet.

tonight is the night
i looked forward so long
to see inward
and hear it
the sound of the gong
who i am tonight
will carry me on.

no way but to fly.

with one arm out the window
i dip my finger
into the sticky pool of the night sky
and stir
and stir
and make no ripple.

see, i can't seem to get outta here
i can't seem to get from A to B
there's this vast chasm
from one cliff to the next
and no way across but to
sprout wings and fly.

so i just sit here
concentrating
and designing my wings.

siberia
has come to me
and across icy floes
she sings to me
of illusion
hypnosis
and dreamings of horses
and speeding
our dreams
into being.

sitting and breathing
alone and with you
quietly seething
is all i can do
and like teabags still steeping
we've yet to burst thru
but colours and flavours
soon will be new
they're only dreams now
but they're long overdue
so first i will sit
and just breathe with you
because frankly
i needed
a breather
too.

it's snowing in Halifax
lightly, again
accumulation's rising
and the lake is freezing thin
there's skydrops and wetspots
and diamonds suspended
in powdery silence
one lonely heart mended
by drips and by drops
tonight by the rocks
i heard the vox
of a snow god's
shining new melody
and i stepped in it
up to my knees.
