Insomnia Milk Bath
Pour oils into a small bowl and mix thoroughly.
ROSE WATER SKIN TONER
1 bag chamomile tea
Steep tea bag in boiling water for 5 minutes.
SKIN SOFTENING BATH
Add 1/4 cup honey to bath water for a fragrant, silky bath.
CITRUS HERBAL BATH
1 oz. lemon peel (cut and sifted)
Mix all ingredients together and store in a glass jar. When you want to bathe place the herbs in a Muslim bag or a perforated metal ball or just loose in a tub of hot water.
DUSTING POWDER
1/2 cup of arrowroot powder
Mix the arrowroot powder and the essential oils together in a bowl. Be sure to break up any lumps in the mixture to ensure proper distribution of the oils throughout. A sifter works great for this!
BLEMISH REMOVER
1 drop of lavender oil
Mix the two oils together and apply directly onto the blemish and keep applying until it disappears.
HENNA NAIL POLISH
Water
Make a thin paste by adding warm water to some henna powder.
TIRED OR IRRITATED EYES
1 oz. of Rosewater
Breath Fresheners
1) Chew fresh parsley to sweeten the breath.
2) Chew fennel seeds to freshen the breath.
3) Chew anise seeds to freshen the breath.
4) Chew a few peppermint or spearmint leaves or drink a cup of peppermint tea
5) Add 1 drop of myrrh oil to 1 cup of cooled, boiled water. Use as gargle/mouthwash
1 tbsp Almond oil
4 drops Lavender essential oil
3 drops Marjoram essential oil
2 drops Benzoin essential oil
1 cup of powdered milk
Stir in 1 cup of powdered milk.
Add the mixture to your bath water and relax!
This toner reduces the puffiness of tired eyes. Rose water tones the skin and tightens your pores, while chamomile reduces inflammation. Store this mixture in a glass or plastic container in a cool, dry place.
1 cup boiling water
1/2 cup rose water
Remove bag and allow tea to cool.
Add rose water to tea.
Soak two cotton balls in preparation and place over eyelids.
Leave on for 5 minutes.
1 oz. orange peel (cut and sifted)
1 oz. chamomile flowers
1 oz. comfrey leaves (cut and sifted)
1 oz. almond meal
15 to 20 drops of any essential oils or combination of oils
Store in a glass container in a cool place.
Large salt and pepper shakers work great for applying the powder to your hand.
1 drop of tea tree oil
Henna powder
Small paintbrush
Apply to nails with a small paintbrush.
Allow to completely dry.
When dry, rinse off with warm water.
This will give a soft peachy - pink colour which will not chip. Remember the colour of henna you chose will determine the colour on your nails.
4 oz. of distilled water
Add the Rosewater and distilled water together and bottle it.
It will keep for a lengthy period.
Rinse your eyes whenever you need using this fluid by using either an eye cup or the hollow of your palm.
