"BLOOD FOR VANITY"

THE FUR TRADE

I am totally, completely, firmly against the fur trade! Fur looks best on an animal...not on a human. I find it completely disgusting! Further more I hope there is a good place for cruel, heartless, humans, and I use that word "human" lightly here, when they pass...read what they have to say...from their own lips HERE   To learn more about this...do a search for "anti fur"

The fur trade in North America began almost as soon as Europeans began their explorations of the North American mainland. It's important to remember that at that time, fur was a necessity, there were no synthetics back then and fur provided the ultimate in warmth. Also, it's important to remember that usually the meat was eaten. TIMES HAVE CHANGED!

FACT: Since these poor animals are being used strictly for their fur, they are not given any human compassion what-so-ever! No care is given to if they are in pain, hungry, hurt nothing!

FACT: To kill the animals without damaging their fur, trappers usually strangle, beat, or stomp them to death. Animals on fur farms may be gassed, electrocuted, poisoned with strychnine, or have their necks snapped. These methods are not 100 percent effective and some animals "wake up" while being skinned.

FACT: Ranch-raised foxes are kept in cages only 2.5 feet square (minks in cages 1-foot-by-3-feet), with up to four animals per cage.

FACT: Animals can languish in traps for days. Up to 1 out of every 4 trapped animals escapes by chewing off his or her own feet, only to die later from blood loss, fever, gangrene, or predation

FACT: Every year, thousands of dogs, cats, raptors, and other so-called "trash" animals (including endangered species like the bald eagle) are crippled or killed by traps.
