SPELL CASTING BASICS

Once you decide to create a spell follow these basic steps:

1) Clearly understand and define your magical need.
If you wish to use a special element then decide which one is most appropriate and collect items to represent that energy. Gather stones, candles or whatever else you wish to use to focus and send the energy you will raise. Empower those items with your personal energy as you focus upon your goal.

2) Decide upon your words of power. You may write them out or simply the key phrases you wish to use as you improvise.

4) If you wish to use a special deity in your magic, decide who and how you intend to petition him or her. You may want to write out special prayers or invocations and/or memorize them.

5) Plan how you will visualize your goal.

6) Decide where and when you want to do your spell.

7) At the appropriate time gather what you will use and go to the place you decide to do your spell at.

8) Cast your protective circle

9) Invite whatever elemental, faeries, spirits, or deities you wish to have present as you work.

10) Clear your mind and start to visualize your goal.

11) Raise the energy within yourself and pour it into your magical objects).

12) Use your words of power, light your candles, charge your stones, dance or sing. Whatever it takes to raise your energy.

13) Take advantage of natural phenomena which can help you raise energy. A storm is a great source of energy. Use it to raise your cone of power.

14) When you feel you have raised as much energy as you can send it out in the direction you want. I point my want to release the energy where I want.

15) Finish your spell with words like "So mote it be" or "Amen" or" It is done" or "So it is". All magick is worked from the point of view that the goal is already done. Not that it will come to be because it is forever stuck in the future forever - always just out of reach.

16) Meditate and visualize that it has already manifested.

17) When you close your circle thank all spirits, deities, etc... you invited, dismiss the quarters counter clock wise beginning in the west, dismiss all you have called upon with the phrase "Merry meet, Merry part, and Merry meet again."

18) Always ground the energy from the circle

19) Record in your book of shadow. All details are preferred weather, date, time so you can see if you can work better with certain weather or times or whatever.

O.k, so what does the above mean? Well, Let's look at what it is that you want to accomplish. If can zone in on an exact thing, it is easier to influence. Lets say money. Say you find yourself short of cash to pay your bills, or short of cash to purchase a needed item. How much exactly do you need ? Name the amount...and keep it to that which you need.

Focus on the amount you need. Please note that I said need, NOT want . Gather all the items that you think represents riches. What smells rich ? What tastes rich? What feels rich ? What looks rich ? What sounds Rich ?

Tables state that green or gold are colors of money and wealth ( coins and bills). Spices such as cinnamon and cloves correspond with wealth because there was a time in history that spices such as these were worth more than gold. They are fire herbs ( which means that they animate things), If you choose to use the tables, fine...but learn just why the correspondences are associated to which thing, or it will be meaningless.

Okay, you have everything together, you have identified your need, and you are ready to work. Predetermine a gesture that says to your deep mind something profound is about to happen. For you it may mean casting a circle, lighting a candle, a moment of peace and quiet. If you are after money, do not focus on your debt or your lack. Focus on seeing yourself as having the amount of money you need in your life. See yourself paying your bills. See yourself as buying the food. Visualize this in detail, see yourself counting the money out, receiving a receipt stating "Paid In Full" for your bills. Then , send this vision out into the universe, and say a phrase that indicates to your deep mind that this is done. I like "so mote it be".

So, how long will you wait to the results? Usually a moon cycle, but sometimes it happens quickly. If you see no results in a lunar cycle, try again, and make certain of your focus. If it is something really big ( like getting a house) , it may take a full season.

NOTES

Personally, I prefer spells to be in rhyme. It make them easier to remember and they can be said "chantingly" with power.

A spells can be as simple as a chant over a burning candle, placing a quartz crystal in a sunny window, or visualizing a need. On the other hand, some perform elaborate, lavish spells full of ritual. One is as good as the other.

To perform effective magick - 3 necessities must be present: The Need, the Emotion & the Knowledge.

Personally, I also like to work with the moon cycles and proper element correspondents.
