BENTLEY

My mother-in -law was Marie Bentley Bivens Farris. She was born July12,1920 in Rexton, Lewis Co. Ky. She was the daughter of Dow and Rosa Williams Bentley.    She married Lelsie Ray Bivens May 13 1939 in Vanceburg, Lewis Co Ky.They had five children. Ted, Marilyn,  Gary, Janet and Ricky Joe.  Ricky Joe died when he was only about a week old.   Marie and Ray divorced and later she married William Farris. Papaw as everyone called him passed away July 20 1998. He was a very sweet person.

Maries' parents as I said were Dow Bentley and Rosa Williams Bentley. Dow was born May 22 1885 in Letcher Co Ky. He died on April 19 1955 in Greenup Co Ky. Rosa was born Dec 14 1890 in Greenup Co Ky and Died on Jan 2 1943 in Lewis Co. Ky . They are both Buried at Bennetts Chapel cemetery in Greenup Co. Ky

Marie passed away at the age of 80. She left us on Feb 17 2001 . Marilyn and I were with her when she died. It had been a hard two months for her. She was one of my best friends I could tell her anything. Still sometimes I forget and think I'll go to Marie house. I miss her deeply as I know her children must.
