THIS IS A PICTURE OF JAMES HARVEY LOCKHART AND HIS WIFE MARY C. BURNETT. MY G-G-GRANDPARENTS.
James Harvey Lockhart was born February 15, 1837 in Tazewell Co., Va.
Married November 6, 1860 ( Tazewell county courthouse, book 3 page 12 , line 52 ) shows James H. 23 years of age married Mary C. Burnett, 28 years of age, both resided in Tazewell County. His parents were John and Eleanor Lockhart. Her parents were Obediah and Ann Burnett. James was a farmer , married by Jacob Barshett. Mary was born in Oct of 1832 in Patrick Co. Va.
James Harvey enlisted in the Confederate States of America Army, 16th Cav. Co. C. on Saturday August 20, 1862. He was later promoted to Corp. His brothers , Benjamin and William and his brother-in- laws Meadows Turner, George Washington Asbury and William Barrett were all in the 16th Va. Cav. Co. C.
James Harvey was captured during the civil war and taken prisoner at Marietta , Ohio. He also lost an eye. He was released there at the end of the war.
James was last known alive in Tazewell county. He was a grocery merchant according to the 1910 census. He and Mary had been married 46 years and Mary had given birth to six children. It's possible that they died prior to the 1920 census.

UPDATE
In July 1999, I made a trip to Tazewell Va. and found a news article in the paper on May 8,1918 that reads:

J.H.Lockhart, 82 years old, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sam Sheets,west of town on February 5th . He had been confined to his room and almost helpless for years. He was a good man, and highly respected by all who knew him. For fifty years he had been a consistent member of the Methodist Church.
