My Shining Stars
To me my ancestors are like the stars in a beautiful nights sky. Each one have its own destinctive look and glow.
Each one is watching over me in their own special way.
I can feel their presents . I feel their warmth and Love .
When the night is clear and quiet I sometime listen for them to whisper to me . Their voices are sweet and calming. I sometimes hear my Mamaw humming. The tune is unrecogizable to me , but that is how I know it is her. She always hummed but I never knew the song. It was like she was making it up as she went along.
My father talks to me sometimes if I listen real hard. He had a great sense of humor. Like the time my african violet died. I had this voilet for about three years and it never bloomed. Then on the 24th anniversary of my fathers death and the day my granddaughter Bonnie was borned ( March 25, 1995 ) it bloomed for the first time. One beautiful Pink bloom. About two years later I negected my flowers for a while . One day I looked at the violet and it was dead . I thought of my father and I thought I can't believe it died I always thought of that violet as a miracle. All of the sudden it was like I heard daddy say " God turned the water into wine , but at least he had the water." I had to laugh out loud. I understood what he meant. It was just like something that he would say to me. Me and dad had a good laugh that day.
On Feb 17, 2000 a new star shone in the night sky as another angel was admitted to heaven. This angel was Mellisa Ann Lockhart . She was my niece. Now she is guarding over all of us and sharing the love of our family members who have gone before her. She is the first Grandchild that my Father will be able to hold and I'm sure he is holding her very close to him now. I Love you, Missy.
