Ingredients

1 Can Muntons Connoisseurs Range Yorkshire Bitter (1.8 kg)

1 Kg Amber Malt Extract

6 gms Muntons Active Brewing Yeast (comes with can)

In this case actually used two packets of yeast - a fresh as well as the

one provided as they are prone not to "start" if aged

 

Method

Kept this one simple on advice from our brew shop expert

Warm can in hot water

Warm malt in microwave

Add a couple of litres of boiling water to fermenter

Add can of goo and malt extract

Stir to dissolve

Add hot and cold filtered water to make 23 litres

at pitching temp of around 24 deg celsius

Pitch yeast and stir

Maintain temp around 20-22 deg during fermentation

Analysis

At bottling very sweet smelling beer

Smooth to taste - velvety texture

Already had head solid on it when sample placed 

in hydrometer test vessel

Good strong orange-amber colour
