| Disclaimer and Author's Note For "It's Been Awhile" |
| I generally don't do a disclaimer for my stories individually, but I feel that this one needs it. It deals with an extremely touchy subject for some, a subject that no one really knows about except one person...and that's AJ. That said, this is fiction, purely fiction. I wrote this story for a friend who gave me the plot, and the names for the characters. While not all the facts are accurate, they're as accurate as I know from what I've learned and read. I mean no disrespect to AJ and what he's gone through. The therapy parts are not accurate as well, I later learned towards the end of writing it, that some of the things were wrong and made up for it later in the story. Once again I mean no disrespect to those in therapy or who've been in therapy. I don't know AJ or his management, I'm not related to him, I don't know any of the Backstreet Boys personally and I don't claim to know what he's thinking or feeling. This story was a labor of love that almost didn't happen. And as much as I didn't want it to, it became personal to me. It has a lot of me in it, my feelings and opinions on things and the situation with AJ. I will not apologize for my opinions. While I'm extremely proud of this story, I'm also a bit saddened. In some ways it turned out just like I had planned, in some places even better than I imangined, and in others I found it lacking from the effect and the emotions I wanted to convey. I don't think I could ever do his story justice. I'm warning you now about this, if you feel you cannot handle what's written, I ask that you please not read it. I really don't want hate mail coming to me about the nerve of me assuming. I'm not assuming, not at all. Remember dear reader, this is fiction, please keep that in mind if you choose to read .
