I'm up for a Come Undone Award! | |||||||||||||||
Anything Can Happen Copyright 2001 "So then I told her that I couldn't do that, and besides, it would wash off in the shower anyway." Brian laughed. "One of the more interesting places to get an autograph." April giggled. "Yeah, fans are something else." "Look I'll try to hurry, I know you've gotta get going." "S'ok, I'm in no rush really." "Still Brian, I don't wanna take up too much of your time. You really are a sweetheart letting me borrow this book." "April, it's not a problem." April Bayer smiled at her long time friend Brian Littrell. She'd known him for a while; she used to work with him and the rest of the Backstreet Boys. They were all really great guys, except Nick. Her and Nick Carter had never gotten along; he was always teasing her and calling her names. She reciprocated with the same of course; April was known for her sarcasm. They really got into it most of the time, often worrying the others. It often ended with one of them slamming the door and the other storming off. It didn't help the fact that April had had a crush on Nick from the moment she met him. Blue eyes, blonde hair, nice full perfect lips...kissable lips. He'd walk by her and she'd get all dizzy, woozy, week kneed and flustered. She'd watched as he would fawn over his girlfriend of the moment, outwardly snickering and making jokes. On the inside though, that was a different story. On the inside she had wanted to be that girl. On the inside she wanted to be the one in his arms. Of course this was sick and not acceptable. So instead of letting him see how he affected her, she decided to become his worst enemy. So far it was working, but now that they were back for vacation, she'd have to see him again. It'd been so long. "Earth to April, come in April!" Brian waved a hand in front of her face. "Huh? What? Oh, sorry Brian, just sorta wandered off there." "Well wherever you were, must've been good. You had this silly ass grin on your face." Brian smirked. "I did not!" "How would you know?" "Shut up!" April laughed, smacking him playfully. There was a buzz and Brian ran over to find out who was at the gate. "Sure just a minute." She heard Brian call into the speaker and then pressed the button to open the gate. A few minutes later there was a knock at the door. Brian opened it and someone rushed in. "You won't believe this! I don't believe this!" April's eyes widened. It was Nick! He looked different; his hair was short and spiky now. He'd filled out nicely, wide shoulders, tall and devastatingly handsome. Her heartbeat had increased greatly, biting her lip she looked away. Now was time to pretend. "What? What won't I believe?" Brian asked. "It's Diane! We..." Nick stopped as he turned and saw April. Taking a deep breath she looked him dead in the eyes. Her heart stopped as Nick looked her over, obvious curiosity in his eyes. Apparently he'd noticed that she too had changed since they last saw each other. She'd lost about thirty pounds, changed her wardrobe and hairstyle and now looked totally different from about a year ago. She grinned in satisfaction. "...Broke up." Nick finished, still staring at April. "Excuse me but, do I know you?" April rolled her eyes. "Very funny Carter." She sighed. "Oh please, this can't be April. April Bayer? You gotta be shitin' me!" He smirked. "Nick, come on man." Brian sighed. "No no, I know this can't be April. April had no style, this girl here actually looks...decent." Nick grinned. April crossed her arms over her chest. "Fuck off Carter. Like I give a shit if you think I look decent or not." Nick raised his eyebrows. "Since when did you start swearing?" "Since when do you care?" "I don't. I don't care, anyway. So Brian...hey can you leave?" Nick spat coldly. "My pleasure." She grated out. She turned to Brian. "Thanks for letting me borrow the book Brian. I'll return it ASAP." April smiled at him and headed up the stairs to the attic. "No prob. Just remember be careful of the door, it's been sticking lately. Don't want you to get locked in there." Brian called out. "Book? What book?" Nick asked, watching April walk up the stairs. "I have this book of Palsm's that she needs for some project. She's gonna borrow it." Brian explained. "Oh." Nick mumbled, turning to look at Brian. "You were watching her pretty hard there Nick." Brian announced, looking at Nick thoughtfully. "I was not. Look, forget her. I need to tell you what happened..." ************************************************************************ April walked around the attic; she needed to find that book. Sighing she looked around, she needed to hurry if she was gonna find that book before Brian had to leave. She walked over to another box and started shuffling through it. He had so many books, what was a guy of his age doing with so many books?! Sighing again, she continued looking. ************************************************************************ "Wow man, that sucks." "You're telling me! I can't believe her. I can't believe I was so stupid." Nick sighed. "You weren't stupid Nick, you cared about her and she betrayed you. That doesn't make you stupid." Brian reasoned. Nick sighed. Brian looked up towards the stairs. "Hey Nick could you do me a favor please? Can you go check and see how April is? I need to get something from downstairs before I leave." Nick groaned. "I guess so. I'm just gonna take off after ok." "Alright, catch ya later." Brian called, walking down the stairs. Nick looked up the stairs wearily. Since when did April become so attractive? He'd almost let it slipped at how beautiful she looked when she was standing in front of him before. He was so tired of pretending, so tired. Sighing heavily, he headed up the stairs. *********************************************************************** "I can't believe this, I can't find it!" She muttered, slumping to her knees, her head lowered. "Ahh yes, bow to me." April's head whirled around and she stared wide-eyed at Nick. "It'll be a cold day in hell before I ever bow to you." "Now now, is that anyway to talk to your beloved Nick." Nick grinned. "Fuck off asshole! I don't have time to deal with your shit." She grated out, standing back up. She watched as something like pain crossed his face. Shaking it off, she turned and continued looking. "So anyway, Brian sent me up here to see if you found whatever you were looking for." "Do you see me with a book or anything?" "Umm, no?" "Well there ya go! Give this man a cookie!" April snapped. "What's your problem?! Why are you being so nasty?" "Because I can, besides, I have to make up for lost time." "Oh aren't we sweet! So nice of you to think of me." "Shut up and leave me alone." "Testy testy aren't we?! Figures." "What's that supposed to mean?" "Who says it has to mean anything?" "You can't say something like that and not mean anything." "Oh. Well I didn't." April stared at him. "Whatever, just go. I can't stand to be around you." "Fine, I'm outta here!" Nick yelled. He didn't feel like arguing with her anymore, he'd had enough. They'd been arguing for too long. Turning he bumped into a table and suddenly something fell, hitting the door. He watched as it started to close. "NICK! DON'T LET THE DOOR..." April yelled to Nick, just before the door closed shut. "...Close." She muttered. Racing over, she pulled at the door. "Oh god no, please." She moaned. She pulled again before turning to look at Nick. "It's stuck." Nick's eyes widened and they stared at each other before banging loudly on the door. "BRIAN!!!!" ******************************** Brian heard the door close just as he was coming up the stairs. "I guess they must be gone." Grabbing his keys he headed out the door. ******************************** "Stop stop! April stop! Listen." Nick called. They heard a noise and rushed over to the window. There was Brian getting into his BMW. He stared at Nick's truck and then April's car and shrugged. He climbed into his car and slowly started down the driveway. "I don't believe this. This isn't happening." April moaned, her head hitting the window with a thump. With anyone else it wouldn't be so bad, but she was stuck...with Nick. She banged her head repeatedly on the window. "No, no, no, no." She chanted. "Hey come on, stop it." Nick reached out and pulled her head away from the window. She jerked back. "Don't touch me!" She backed up, the feeling of his hands on her skin causing her to shake. "No problem there." Nick spat, quickly stepping away from her. April walked over and slumped to the floor, she couldn't be here with him, she couldn't. She was liable to make a fool of herself, and let it slip, how she really felt. She buried her face in her hands, careful. She had to be careful. Nick looked over at April, her face buried in her hands. She looked absolutely miserable. He rubbed at his eyes and sat against the wall across from her. She was beautiful, just like she'd always been. He'd tried hard to not like her, but it was impossible. Ever since the first day they'd met, there'd been something there. Instead of becoming friends though, they'd become enemies. He didn't want her knowing how he felt, so he pretended to hate her, which she didn't seem to mind because she apparently hated him too. Now he was tired of it, tired of pretending when all he wanted was to feel her in his arms, to taste her. "What in the hell are you staring at?" Ok, it wasn't gonna happen. Nick sighed, it continued. "Nothing much." He replied coldly. April felt her heart drop; she couldn't just sit anymore. Standing quickly, she went to another box and continued looking for the book, shoving other books aside roughly. "What are you doing?" Nick asked. "What's it look like I'm doing dumbass? I'm lookin' for the damn book!" "We're stuck in here and you're still looking for some stupid book?" "Well what do you expect me to do? I'm not just gonna sit here and stare at my fingers." April mumbled. Nick stared at her. "What?! Why do you keep looking at me like that for?" April breathed, that look he was giving her was unnerving. Nick rolled his eyes and looked away. She went back to her searching. Two hours and six boxes later, April slumped back down on the floor. Nothing, she still hadn't found the book. Frustration was setting in as the hot tears burned her eyes. Nick, surprisingly, had been very quiet throughout her search. They hadn't said much to each other, but now she wished they were talking, she was lonely. She heard a noise and looked down at her stomach. She groaned. She hadn't realized just how hungry she was until now. "I have a Snickers bar if you want half." She heard Nick offer. Slowly she lifted her head and stared at him. "I know it's not a lot, but I mean..." "Thank you." She whispered. Nick looked at her a moment before pulling the candy bar out, opening the wrapper. "I'm gonna have to divide it with my fingers. There isn't anything else. Sorry." "It's ok." Nick slowly tore the candy bar in half. Getting on his knees, he reached out and handed half to her. April reached out and took the candy bar, sitting back down. She stared down at it, her eyes misting. She'd been so nasty to him and yet he still shared his candy bar with her. She took a small bite, and then licked at her fingertips, getting the chocolate that had melted. She looked up to see Nick doing the same. She stifled a moan and looked back down at her candy bar. Her eyes tearing up again. Nick watched as she licked her fingers, and shifted uncomfortably. She was awfully quiet right now. He watched as she slowly ate her half of the candy bar. Popping the last bit of his into his mouth, he chewed thoughtfully. He heard a sniffle and looked over to see April's shoulders shaking gently. He looked around uncomfortably; suddenly he heard her soft cries. "April?" She'd tried hard to keep it in, but she couldn't. The frustration had become too much. Between being stuck in the attic and seeing Nick again, was just too much for her. She couldn't take anymore. The candy bar forgotten, she buried her face in her hands. She didn't have the energy to fight anymore, she wanted him, she needed him. "April, what's wrong?" Nick whispered. She continued to cry. She heard him move and suddenly he was kneeling in front of her. "April?" She could hold back no longer, she flung herself into his arms. Nick's eyes widened in shock and he stood, holding her as she cried. "April, honey what's wrong, why are you crying?" Nick soothed. When she didn't answer, he walked her over to where he was sitting and brought her down to the floor with him, sitting her in his lap. He held her as she cried, she felt so good in his arms. Slowly her cries came to an end and she pulled away. "Sorry bout that, I think everything just sorta caught up with me. Sorry." She sniffled, wiping at her eyes. "Here you can use my shirt, just don't blow your nose on it please, I don't have a spare." Nick laughed. He heard her soft chuckle and he smiled. "Wow, I think that's the first time I've ever made you laugh!" "Eh, don't get used to it." She smiled. "I'll try not to." She nodded, she hoped he couldn't feel her shaking. Looking away, she tried to breathe. Finally she was where she'd longed to be. Nothing felt better. "So, feeling better now?" Nick asked. "Yeah, thanks. Look Nick, I wanna apologize for earlier. I didn't mean to be so nasty." "It's ok, I'm used to it, especially from you." "Jeez, thanks." "Don't worry bout it, I'm just as bad." "Actually, you weren't that bad today. What's up? You loosin' your touch or something?" Nick looked away quickly. "Nah, just didn't feel like it today that's all. I'm just, tired." April stared at him. "I know you must be glad to be home." Nick's gaze turned to her. "Yeah I am actually. I needed the rest and well, I was glad to see everyone I've missed." He'd missed her so much he couldn't stand it. April's eyes widened. "Oh." She whispered, lowering her gaze. Nick swallowed hard, she was so close. It'd be so easy for him to lean over and... "You know, this is nice. Just talking to you. Maybe we could be, you know, friends or something." April looked back up at Nick and into his eyes, big mistake. "Yeah, friends." Nick whispered. She couldn't tare her eyes away. Her breathing became uneven as she felt Nick slowly wrap his arms around her waist, pulling her closer. "Nick, I..." "April, can I just..." They stared at each other. Nick slowly leaned in. April prayed it would happen, just let it happen. Her eyes drifted shut as she felt Nick's lips press gently against hers. Hold me, kiss me, show me You wanna be with me Feel me, taste me And maybe I'll let you have me Whatever she'd been expecting him to be like, it was nothing compared to how he actually was. She sighed as Nick deepened the kiss, his tongue running over her lips before slowly pushing inside her mouth. She'd wanted this for so long and now that it was actually happening, she couldn't believe it. She slowly ran her hands up his chest to wrap around his neck, pulling him closer. Nick held her to him, she felt so good against him. He wanted more, he needed to be closer. He turned her so she was below him, pushing her down to the floor. He shifted slightly, his body resting on hers. When you do convince me Can't turn back I'll be your best You know that good things Don't come easy She opened her eyes to find Nick staring down at her. She hadn't even realized they'd switched positions. She sighed heavily, not knowing what was gonna happen. "I never got to tell you today, you look amazing." Nick murmured as he lowered his head, nibbling on her neck. She moaned. "I-I do?" "Mmm hmm, very good. Good enough to eat." He whispered, slowly making his way down her chest. It was at that moment, that April was glad she wore a tank top. Her eyes drifted shut once again. She felt Nick run his hands down her waist and then up again, pushing the tank top up also. She arched her back up as he pushed it up and off her. His mouth was on her again, over the fabric of her bra, teasing her. She called out softly. Nick moved his hand, he wanted no boundaries. He ran his finger up the curve of her breast, slowly pushing the soft material aside. He could feel her breathing becoming labored and he raised his eyes to look into hers as he slowly brought his mouth down to cover her nipple. She squeezed her eyes shut, crying out. It was too much to feel his mouth on her like that. His tongue played with her flesh. He unhooked her bra and tore it off, before moving over to the other breast and paying it the same attention. Her hands dug into the floor, she tried to control herself, but she couldn't. She could feel the tingling sensations coursing through her. Her body was tight and ready, ready for him. (Hold me) So are you ready (Kiss me) To journey (Show me) Within me (Feel me) I'll satisfy you (Taste me) I will do anything (Have me) You ask me to (Ask me) Anything He moved lower, his fingers undoing the button on her pants. He pushed the zipper down and the pants followed. Slowly he ran a finger over her, her hips bucked slightly. Using his whole hand, he rubbed her through her underwear, he could feel the heat coming from her. She was so ready for him. No, not yet. He pulled her underwear down. "I want to taste you April. Let me taste you." He moaned. His heart pounded in his chest as she slowly spread her legs apart. He lowered his head, running his tongue over her. "Nick." She called out. Her whole body was shaking; she didn't know how much longer she could wait. His fingers, slowly moving against her, joined his tongue. Bringing her hands up, she ran them through his hair. Too fast, it was all happening too fast. Last, she wanted it to last. She couldn't stop it though, not when it felt this good, this right. When you do convince me Can't turn back I'll be your best You know that good things Don't come easy His fingers moved faster, and her body tensed over and over as she released. Falling back on the floor, her breathing choppy and uneven. She felt Nick start his way slowly back up her body, her stomach tensing at what was yet to come. His lips covered hers and when he pulled away, she noticed that he was now totally undressed. "April, I want to feel you. I need to be inside you, I can't wait any longer." He murmured, trailing kisses along her chest. She lifted his head to look into his eyes. "Then don't." Nick sighed, as she slowly spread her legs open for him to rest between. (Hold me) So are you ready (Kiss me) To journey (Show me) Within me (Feel me) I'll satisfy you (Taste me) I will do anything (Have me) You ask me to (Ask me) Anything Drawing in a breath, he slowly slid into her warmth, the feeling almost too much for him to bear. He didn't move, she felt so good, so tight. "Nick, please." He could wait no longer and slowly he started moving against her. Wrapping her legs around his waist, she moved with him. She pulled him down to her, closer, she wanted him closer. Slowly he increased his pace, pushing in deep and withdrawing slowly. It was with agonizing carefulness his strokes. No one had ever felt this good to her, no one. She'd never felt so in tune with anyone before. She could feel her release coming as Nick continued to move against her. He steadily increased his pace, wanting more and more of her. He couldn't seem to get close enough to her. Leaning down he kissed her gently, their tongues keeping in time with their bodies. He could get lost in her, lost in her body, in her soul. He knew that after this, he'd want no one else. When you do convince me Can't turn back I'll be your best You know that good things Don't come easy Faster and faster he moved, the time was coming. She couldn't wait any longer as a shudder took her, quaking her whole body as she tensed around him over and over. His name repeated over and over on her lips as if in prayer. He pushed into her one last time, before slowly resting upon her, his breathing ragged. "A-April...are you ok?" With a muffled moan she responded. She couldn't think, all she could do was feel. This, she wanted this forever. She wanted him for forever. Slowly Nick raised his head; sweat covered his forehead and ran down the side of his face as he looked down at her. Lowering his head, he kissed her gently. (Hold me) So are you ready (Kiss me) To journey (Show me) Within me (Feel me) I'll satisfy you (Taste me) I will do anything (Have me) You ask me to (Ask me) Anything (With me) Anything (Hold me) So are you ready (Kiss me) I will do anything (Show me) For you ************************************************************************ The door swung open. "How long have you two been in here for? I noticed your truck Nick in the driveway along with April's car when I left, I thought you were gone. Then I figured that surely you'd be gone by now. Then I thought that maybe you two were talking or something and maybe finally work out your differences." April and Nick looked at each other. "Well?" Brian asked. "I guess he's alright." April shrugged. "Yeah, she's pretty cool." Nick sighed. "So does this mean that you two are friends now?" Nick laughed and stood up, walking over to April. "You could say that." He smiled, pulling her into his arms and kissing her deeply. Brian's eyes widened. "Whoa, where'd that come from?" "I guess you could say we have an...understanding." April explained. "An understanding?" Brian questioned. "Yeah an understanding. We've come to realize that we're better together as friends, than as enemies." "So you are friends." "Amongst other things." April grinned. "Other things?" "Let's just say anything can happen, when you're locked in a room together." Nick grinned before pulling April into his arms once again, kissing her deeply.
