Chapter 5 She was powerless to stop him, she who could kill weightlifters, a predator like her and she couldn't lift a finger against this man. A man who stirred feelings in her that she thought had died the night she'd become the monster she is now. His lips touched her tentative at first and then grew deeper. The only time she'd ever kissed a human, was right before she made her kill, there was no emotion in her victims. No feeling, but AJ, with him there was something. Something warm and beautiful and she was helpless to resist. She felt him pull her into his arms and bring her up close to him. His tongue ran lightly over her lips, forcing them to slowly part. She moaned as his tongue made it's way inside, tangling with hers. This was crazy, he was vermin, she shouldn't be doing this. His hands made their way around her slender waist, holding her there. She couldn't move if she wanted to, and she didn't she realized. She didn't want it to end, and this, this is what she'd been longing for. For this one bit that she'd left behind in her human life. It'd never felt so good. Deeper, she wanted a deeper contact with him, she wanted him to feel what he was doing to her. She felt her teeth growing, extending. She pulled away quickly, running her teeth over her lip, the blood started to well up. She looked up at AJ, and quickly bit his lip. He went to call out, when her lips covered his. The connection was instant, like it was made to happen. Soon they were covered in a warm mist that surrounded them. She looked up at him, and there he was staring back her. There was something in his eyes, something that she didn't understand. "Aradia, what...what's happening?" "I'm sorry Alex, I just...I just wanted to be closer to you. This is the only way without changing you." "Sad, you're so sad. I can feel what you're feeling." She looked away. "Please don't...don't turn from me. Let me see...let me see you." Slowly she started towards him, she could feel him trying to get through, to feel her. This is what she'd wanted and she'd let him see. The closer she got to him, the stronger the pull was. She was changing, and for this brief second, she'd be with him. She stood, a few feet away from him. "Alone, the one who created you left you alone. You have no one who cares, no one to love you. So you go out and kill, trying not to think of the emptiness that has taken over your soul. And with me, the emptiness is gone, you feel whole, but you know you can never be with me. Oh Aradia..." "Don't Alex, don't. I've accepted that and I know now that I can't change you and bring you with me. I could never go on knowing that made you a vampire keep you with me. It's not fair. This, this world is your world. It used to be mine, but now it will never be again. We...can't mix, we can't join cause you don't belong with me. I'm sorry Alex, sorry for everything I've done to you. I'll...leave you alone." "Wait...Aradia..." She pulled away and stepped back from him. She watched as his hand flew to his lip and then pulled his hand away. He looked up at her. "Aradia." "I'm leaving Alex. You won't have to worry about me anymore. I'm sorry for all of this." "You can't leave." "I have to. Goodbye Alex." He watched as she turned, heading back down the ally, the click of her heels growing softer until at last they were gone. "Goodbye Alex." She whispered, a single tear falling as she watched him walk to his truck and get in before driving off. The-End |
