Chapter 3

"Yes Mr. Morganstern...of course...I see what you're saying...I know I'm young, but I assure you I'm more than qualified to do well...yes that's right my manager does...yes...yes...right...wonderful!...tomorrow at two-thirty right...nice talking to you too sir, have a nice day." Keyana hung up the phone and let out a cheer.

"Wahoo I've done it!!!"

Lumien stuck her head in. "Done it?"

"Yes!! I landed the account! BLISS!!"

"Congratulations!" Lumien smiled.

"Thanks, this is so great." Keyana smiled.

Lumien smiled again and turned and headed back to her desk. Keyana got up and turned her radio on, singing to the first song that came on, not seeing someone walk into the building and stare into her office.  ***************************************************************
Nick watched as a young woman turned her radio on and did what appeared to be singing. He smiled and walked up to the receptionist.

"May I help you?"

"Yes. I wanted to talk to someone."

"Ok, do you have an appointment set up with someone sir?"

"Uhh...no, I just heard about your company."

"Ok...let me see who's available." The receptionist smiled, turning to her computer.

Nick smiled. He went home the other night and looked up the name of the company and got lucky to find it was the only Clarkson & Rivers in the book.  He turned to look back at the woman in the office. She was singing at the top of her lungs, she appeared to be excited about something. His eyes widened as she turned. It was her!

"Her!! I want her!" He pointed to the office.

The receptionist turned and looked. "Miss. Johnson sir?"

"Yes...Miss. Johnson, I want her."

"Oh...ok...you can head right on over talk with her secretary and she can schedule you an appointment."

"Great, thanks." Nick smiled and headed over to the secretary. She continued to type as she greeted him.

"Good morning sir...just one moment please and I'll be right with you. Ok there now. What can I do for..." She wandered off as she looked up at him.

Nick had the slight impression that she may know who he was. "I wanted to set up an appointment to meet with..." Nick stopped, he couldn't remember her name.

"Miss. Johnson?"

"Yes...Miss. Johnson."

"Oh ok...let's see...actually Miss. Johnson has an opening right now if you want to go in and talk to her."

"Yes, that'd be great."

"Ok, you can go right on in." She smiled.

"Thanks." Nick walked over to the door and peeked in. She was still singing, he grinned as she grabbed  a pen and started singing into it.

"Now two years gone nothing's been won. I can't take it back what's done is dooone!"

Nick leaned up against the door, watching.

"...Just because I...made...that...call and lied!!!!!"

He stood there and listened as she finished.

"We're going to a place nearby...gotta go!"

Nick clapped and she swung around, her face flushed. "Good job!" He laughed.

"Oh you scared me!" She hurried over to the radio and turned it off. "Pardon me, I don't usually do that. Please have a seat Mr..."

"Carter...Nick Carter." He smiled, shaking her hand and sitting in one of the padded chairs across from her desk.

She narrowed her eyes at him. "Ya know...that name sounds familiar."

Nick raised his eyebrows. "Does it?"

"Yeah." She looked at him, then looked over at the stereo and then back over at him, her eyes widening.

"I couldn't have done better myself." He grinned and was happy to see the red creeping up on her cheeks.

"Excuse me Mr. Carter. That was totally unprofessional. Now are you here to start an account with us?"

"Yes I am actually." He stared at her, she was even more beautiful up close. Hazel were the color of her eyes. What was it about her that attracted him so?

"Ok so what exactly is it that you wanted to have done?...Mr. Carter?...Mr. Carter?...hello!" She waved her hand in front of his face.
"Oh! Sorry, what did you say?"

Keyana raised an eyebrow. "I said, what did you have in mind? What would you like for me to do for you?"

Nick's eyes widened, and he imagined exactly what he wanted her to do for him.

"Mr. Carter...are you feeling ok?"

"Oh yeah...yeah I'm fine...now what did I want you to do for me?...Umm..." He didn't know what she did!

"Mr. Carter, you are aware that you're in a interior design firm correct?"

"Design firm...of course. Umm...well...I uh..."

"Would you like to schedule an appointment for some other time maybe?"

"Another time?..." He couldn't think, she was sitting there looking so beautiful and he was absolutely tongue tied!

"Let me call my secretary and we'll reschedule ok."

Nick watched as she picked up the phone, her lips moving as she spoke.

"Ok so I have you down for this coming Friday, at  two. Is that ok Mr. Carter?"

Nick nodded weakly. "I'm really sorry...I must be uh...catching something."

"Well I hope not. If you feel bad, just call and reschedule. Well I certainly hope to do business with you Mr. Carter. Here's my card, have a nice day." She smiled, shaking his hand and walking with him to the door.

Nick stood outside the office. "Nice meeting  you..." He mumbled to the door before turning and heading out the building.
