Falling For The Easy

He watched as the crowds of people danced and grinded against each other, a smirk formed on his lips. Within the last few months, he'd become quite the clubber. The club scene had never really been his thing, but lately, it just seemed right to him.

"Here, I can't believe this is all you wanted. You just don't seem like the wine cooler type man." Howie grinned as he made his way back over next to Nick, handing him a glass.

Nick took the glass and took a quick sip. "Just not in the mood for anything heavy tonight man. I'm as tired and worn as hell."

"Yeah well you look it. You could've worn something nicer."

"Shut up! I didn't feel like getting' all dressed up tonight, just don't give a shit. I'm not out to impress no one."

"Well don't worry bout that...you won't have the opportunity to."

Nick smacked him. "Go away!"

Howie grinned. "I won't, this is fun."

"Yeah, sure."

"My my, how the tables have turned."

Nick rolled his eyes, his gaze once again returning to the dance floor, looking around casually. His gaze stopped on a young woman dancing with some guy. Nick watched in sudden envy as she moved against the guy, her hips moving with his erotically. He swallowed hard and leaned back in his chair as her eyes suddenly met his briefly before turning back to her partner.  "D! Man did you see that?!"

"Huh? What? Did I see what?"

"That girl over there! She just looked at me! She's hot!"

Howie rolled his eyes. "Yeah, sure Nick."

"I'm not kidding! I'm gonna go over there and talk to her."

"Whatever man, but maybe you should comb your hair or something."

Nick blew him off and started over to the girl. She'd abandoned her other dance partner and was with someone else. She looked over at him again and the back at her partner.

Girl, I saw you dancin'
I'm lookin' like trash
But yet you're glancin'

He managed to somehow, dance up to her, getting close enough for her to notice. She looked at him again and then over at her partner, turning suddenly, she left her current partner and moved up close to him, starting to dance.

His mouth went dry; he fumbled for words as she stared into his eyes, dancing hypnotically in front of him. He cleared his throat, forcing himself to speak.

"My name's Nick...Carter. I'm...I'm a Backstreet Boy."

She stared at him blandly. "Whatever."

He blinked. "O-oh...ok."

They continued to dance and when the song was over, he expected her to move away from him, but she didn't. Her arms came up and wrapped around his neck, she rubbed up against him suggestively, running her fingers through his hair. He couldn't think, he could only feel, feel her body pressed tightly against his. She leaned forward, whispering in his ear.

"You wanna get outta here?"

He pulled away, looking at her. "Uh yeah, sure...ok."

She smiled, taking his hand and pulling him away from the crowd and towards the door, stopping suddenly to turn him to face her, pulling him close and kissing him deeply before pulling away.

"Watch out or I'll blow your mind." She chuckled, pulling him out the door.

I said..."Hello, I'm a rockstar"
She said... "I don't care who you are.
Just take me with you, and I will..."

Blow your mind
This girl was crazy
And completely out of line
But how she amazed me
You should've seen her grind
I guess she blew my mind

The next couple weeks past in a blur. Nick found himself suddenly thrust into a relationship he didn't even know he wanted. There had been no movies, no phone calls or anything that happens at the start of a relationship, they seemed to have skipped past that somehow. She was everywhere now. She moved into his house and took over everything. His head was spinning.

She was consistently buying herself things, saying that they were a necessity. The only problem was, it was his money she was spending. Not that he was selfish or whatever, but it was becoming too much. She insisted that they get a joint account, she said it would help her to see how much he loved and trusted her. Half the time he didn't know where she was or who she was with cause it definitely wasn't with him.

So, we've gone past dating
She's spending my cash
And I'm here waiting

As a matter of fact, this was one of those times. She'd gone out a few hours ago saying she had some things to take care of. He looked down at his watch, that'd been over five hours ago. Sighing heavily, he turned, getting ready to call her cell, when he heard a car pull up to the driveway. He went to the window and looked out, his mouth dropping. Turning, he made his way down the stairs just in time to see her as she walked through the door.

"Jaleese! What...?"

"Isn't it great! I've always wanted a Mercedes." She smiled.

"But...why?"

"Why not?"

"Honey, you just bought a new car two weeks ago."

"I know, but I'm your girl baby, I gotta look good for ya. How would it look if Nick Carter's girlfriend didn't have the very best? You have a reputation to maintain, I'm just making sure I do my part to make sure it stays intact.  Don't worry honey...just let me have this and I'll take care of everything else for you, ok?"

He blinked. "Yeah, alright."

She leaned up, kissing his cheek. "I'm gonna blow your mind." She whispered, winking at him before walking back out and over to the car.

I said..."Baby, why the new car?"
She said..."I'm the girlfriend of a star Just let me have this, and I will...

Blow your mind

Things just got progressively worse. He didn't even know when things had gotten so out of control. He didn't hang out much with his friends anymore, Jaleese demanded all of his time, saying that it was necessary to build a lasting relationship, and all the while she used him more and stayed out later. She bought more extravagant things and threw elaborate parties.

He had no one to blame but himself. It was his own fault; he'd gotten in way over his head somehow. He always went for the wrong girl, that's him, falling for the easy. He sighed, slumping down on the bed.

So typically me Always fallin' for the easy

Looking around his room, Nick didn't even recognize it anymore. Everything was different; she'd changed everything around. He felt like he didn't even know his own house anymore. He bolted out the room and down the stairs, trying to get away, but she was there, reminders of her everywhere.   Turning, he headed downstairs and into the room he'd kept for himself. Barging through the door he stopped short. Everything, all his drawings, his easel, pens, paper, everything...gone.

The room stared back at him, empty and dead. He looked around, feeling the nausea starting to rise, his breath coming in choppy puffs. What the hell had happened? Stumbling back, he slumped against the door, the room spinning, suffocating, he couldn't get air, he couldn't breathe.

And now I can't breathe...

He heard a noise and then the door shut. He jerked away from the door, throwing it open and bolting up the stairs.

"There you are baby. God, what's wrong with you? You look like shit." Jaleese frowned in distaste.

"H-how could you?" He stuttered.

"How could I what?"

"How could you do that? After all I've done for you, you go and do something like this."

She placed her hands on her hips. "I have no idea what you're talking about." She snapped.

"My room, my drawing room, what'd you do to it?"

"Oh, you mean that room down there with all those weird drawings and stuff?"

"Y-yeah."

She shrugged. "I had no use for it, so I got rid of it. No biggie. It was just a bunch of old drawings and crap, pencils and paper."

"Crap?! That crap was mine! Those were MY drawings! I spent years on those, you had no right!" He yelled.

Her eyes narrowed, cold suddenly. "Oh, I most certainly had the right. The moment I became your girlfriend, I had the right to anything in your house and in your wallet."

His eyes widen. "The fuck?!"

She smiled evilly at him. "Don't you get it? Why do you think I wanted to be with you? I know you didn't think I actually cared for you."

He just stared at her.

"Oh you did didn't you? That's too bad for you isn't it?" She chuckled.

"I can't believe this."

"Believe it. I've been playing you from minute one and I've enjoyed every minute."  His head was pounding. How could he have been so stupid?

So typically me Always fallin' for the easy

"Out" He whispered.

She blinked. "What?"

"Out! Get out I said! I want nothing more to do with you! Get my shit and get out!"

"Your shit?!"

"That's right...that's MY money you're showing off, my money that bought you all that crap. So go on...take MY shit and leave! NOW!" He screamed.

She stared coldly at him. "Fuck you asshole. I pitied you that night, you looked like shit and that's what you are, not worth my time or my energy. No one else would want you anyway. I'm outta here."

With that she turned, grabbing the keys to the car and heading out.

He walked into the club. He was tired and drained. Walking over to the bar, he ordered a drink and slid onto one of the stools. He felt as if a huge weight had been lifted off his shoulders. Jaleese had left three days ago and things couldn't be better. He'd already started working on redecorating his drawing room, it would take some time and patience, but with a little work, he could have it back to the way it was, or close enough.

The things she'd left, he'd sold and returned what he could. Slowly he was starting over, but next time, next time he wouldn't be so gullible, next time he wouldn't fall so easy.

He watched the people dancing, suddenly leery of them. What were their intentions with the people they were dancing with? What would come of it all? Rubbing at his head, he took a sip of his drink and stilled as his eyes stopped at the sight on the dancefloor, there she was. His heart pounded in his chest as he watched a guy walk up to her, drawing her attention away. He recognized the guy, he was in the music business as well.

He swallowed hard as he watched her dancing with him, when she leaned in, wrapping her arms around his neck and whispered something in his ear. The guy nodded and she took his hand, starting to lead him off the dancefloor.

And when you can't see She's gonna...

His gaze followed them all the way to the door where she stopped suddenly, whirling the guy around and kissing him deeply. Nick bolted off the chair, rushing over just in time to hear her mutter those words, those words he'd come to know all too well. Words that would for tell his destiny. Words that after this night, he never wanted to hear again.

"I'm gonna blow your mind."

And she did.
