Denise sighed, where was he? He was supposed to have been there an hour ago. Growing angrier by the minute. Standing she started pacing, she had things she could be doing instead of waiting around for him to decide to show up.

Walking over, she grabbed her purse. Screw it, she was leaving. She'd waited long enough. Striding over to the door, she flung it opened and stopped. There he was, fist poised to knock, she stared at him blandly.

"Sorry Denise, I got held up on..."

"I don't want to hear it ok? Just come in get what you have to and leave. I'm already late as is." She snapped.

Howie groaned, stepping in and shutting the door. She had every right to be upset, but he couldn't help it. The accident on the highway would not be rushed. He understood she was upset, but he also understood that she didn't have to be so nasty about it. He didn't care; he'd get what he came for and leave quickly.

"I'll only be a second." Howie mumbled, breezing past her and down the stairs.

Walking over to the couch, Denise sat, waiting impatiently. Her leg bobbed nervously, she couldn't help it. It'd only been six months since they broke up, but he still had that effect on her. She just wished he'd hurry, she couldn't stand it any longer. Part of her had wanted to jump into his arms the moment she saw him.

It wasn't his fault though; she'd wanted it this way. She'd needed the time, the space apart from him. She knew she hurt him deeply, and that was the last thing she'd wanted, but she didn't feel that her heart was in the relationship the way his was, she wasn't giving it her all, and that wasn't fair to him.

The quicker they got on with their lives, the better.

"Denise?!" Howie called.

"What?!" She yelled back.

"Where's that box?"

"What box?"

"That box that my stuff in it?"

"I don't know what you're talking about." She muttered.

"Denise?"

She didn't answer.

"Denise would you get down here and help me please?!" Howie yelled.

Groaning she stood, pounding down the stairs, slamming the connecting door after her.   "What?!"

Howie straightened and looked at her. Even mad she was beautiful, he'd remembered that first time he saw her. He knew in an instant she was the one he'd wanted to be with. He'd thought she felt the same way, and maybe for a time, she had. But it'd all changed somewhere.

The next thing Howie knew, she was breaking up with him, telling him she needed space, space away from him. He didn't know if he'd been more hurt or angry. But god did he miss her. He didn't like to argue, but it seemed like whenever they were together now, that's all they did. Howie was tired of fighting; they'd done that too much in their relationship to keep on.

"Please, Denise, help me find this book."

She sighed. "What'd it look like? What was in it?"

"Three subject spiral bound, red cover. Had "Lyrics" written on the front."

Denise narrowed her eyes in thought. "I don't remember seeing it." Walking over she started rifling through the boxes. "I thought you'd gotten all your boxes."

"I did, but I can't find that notebook anywhere, last I remember having it was here."

Denise opened another box, looking through it and Howie did the same. About ten minutes later, Howie was ready to give up when Denise pulled something out of a box just a few feet away from him.

"Is this it?" She held up the notebook.

"Yeah! Thanks!" Howie smiled, reaching over and taking the book.

Denise nodded. "No problem."

"Great, then I'm outta here." Howie announced, closing the box he'd opened and turning, starting for the stairs.

Denise followed behind him; she really shouldn't have been so mean to him. Maybe they could, she stopped as she ran into the back of him, almost tumbling down the stairs.

"Hey..."

"It won't open."

She stilled. "What?"

"The door, it's jammed, it won't open."

"Here, let me try." Denise brushed past him, fiddling with the handle, he was right, it was jammed.  "I don't believe this." She groaned, banging on the door.

"Here, I'll call AJ and see if he can come over and get us out." Howie reasoned, pulling his cell out and dialing.

Denise watched him a moment before turning back to the door, trying desperately to open it with no luck. She turned to see Howie hanging up. "Well?"

"He said he's busy, but he can come by in about an hour."

Denise sighed. "What do we do till then?"

Howie shrugged. "I dunno. I'm gonna look around and see if there's a window we can climb out of or something." Turning he headed back down the stairs.

Denise watched him walk away and was overwhelmed with a feeling of loss. God she missed him. She missed him so much sometimes that it felt like she couldn't breathe. She'd wake up at night reaching out for him, only he wasn't there. She still wanted him, still loved him, was still in love with him.

Slowly she made her way down the stairs. A mistake, it'd all been one big mistake. But what did she tell him? She couldn't expect him to just take her back after all this time, hell, she didn't even know if he was seeing someone.

Stopping at the bottom she looked around and then made her way over to the old couch she'd kept down there and slumped down. Her heart hurt, she didn't need space or time, she needed him. Wiping at her eyes, she looked up as she saw Howie make his way over to her.

"Well, I found a window, but I couldn't get it opened, looks like it was sealed with something, so it's not budging."

Denise stared at him intently, standing.

"We're just gonna have to wait it out till AJ gets here. I'm sure we can find something to keep ourselves occupied. Maybe we can sort through those...Denise?" Howie blinked, the way she was looking at him. "Denise? Is everything ok?"

Taking a step towards him, she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him suddenly, deeply. She could feel him start then his hands wrapped around her waist, pulling her up against him tightly.   Suddenly they were making their way back to the couch, their clothes flying, the next thing Denise knew, she was naked under him, the soft cushions surrounding her.

Howie leaned down, drawing a nipple into his mouth, tugging gently. Denise arched against him, running her fingers through his long hair. He moved a hand down, parting her legs, running a finger over her lightly.

She cried out softly, rubbing against his hand. "Please Howie..."she whimpered.

Slowly he pushed a finger in, rubbing her gently as he continued to lave and tug on her nipple. He sighed as she tightened around his fingers. Moving his hands slowly, he felt her body starting to tense in an impending release and pulled away from her breast.

"Come on De, come on babygirl, let me feel you pour over me." He murmured in her ear, drawing a lobe into his mouth, sucking lightly.

"Ohh, Howie!" She cried out, releasing gently around his fingers.

"That's it baby." Howie sighed, bringing her down slowly.  Denise slumped back on the couch, sighing heavily, her heart pounding in her chest. She looked up at him and smiled.

"De, baby is this what you want? It's not to late to..." Howie whispered, running his fingers over her cheek gently, his other hand rubbing her tummy lightly.

That was just like him, thinking of her before himself, and she knew he'd stop if she wanted him to, but she didn't, she wanted this, she wanted him.

"I'm sure Howie, I want you." She sighed, bringing him down for a kiss, wrapping her legs around his waist securely.  He smiled, leaning down to kiss her again, sliding into her suddenly.  She stilled, loving the feeling. It'd been too long, but it felt like home. She pushed her hips up to his, feeling his length slide deeper into her and moaned. It was heaven, he was perfect. She tightened around him and felt him harden even more within her.

"God De, it's been so long baby and you feel so good." Howie sighed, starting to move slowly against her, dragging his length over her clit lazily.

"Mmm Howie, yes." She sighed, pushing up against him again.

"That's it baby, just like that." Howie moaned, rocking harder against her.

"C-close, I'm so close Howie." She groaned, pushing harder and harder up to him.

"Yes, cum for me baby, cum." He grated out, moving hard against her.

Arching against him, she cried out softly, releasing for a second time, her body trembling.

Howie pushed into her one last time, releasing harshly before slumping down over her, careful not to crush her.

"Oh god, god I missed that." Denise moaned, hugging him tightly, afraid he'd pull away.

"I missed it too babygirl, more than you know." Howie sighed, rocking her a bit.

She could stay like this forever, she always could. She loved this moment, the moment after. They held each other like they were the only two on earth and everything was perfect.

Howie sighed, no regrets, he'd have none. He couldn't be so sure about her though.

Slowly they pulled away quietly, dressing quickly, when there was a knock at the door.

"Hello?!"

Howie stood. "AJ?!"

"Yeah man it's me, you two alright down there?"

They looked at each other.

"Yeah, we're fine." Howie replied, making his way up the stairs, Denise behind him. "Can ya open the door?"

"Nah."

"Nah? What do you mean nah?" Howie asked, this wasn't happening.

"AJ? What's going on? The door's stuck, you can't put some kind of grease there or something?" Denise asked.

"Don't need to."

"What do you mean?" Howie questioned.

"Is there a latch or a button or something on your side of the knob?" AJ questioned.

"What?! AJ come on, this is not the time for jokes!" Howie grated out, starting to become annoyed.

"Listen you ass, look and see damnit!" AJ muttered.

Howie looked down and sure enough, there was a button on the knob.

"Well?" AJ pressed.

"Yeah there's a button, so?"

"Press it!" AJ urged.

"AJ, pressing it locks it!"

Denise gasped. "No!"

"No?" Howie and AJ replied in unison.

"No, it's backwards. My Dad installed it for me, but he somehow managed to do it backwards. Instead of pressing it in to lock it, you press it in to unlock it." She explained. "I completely forgot."

Howie looked at her a moment before pressing the button and turning the knob, the door swung open to a smug looking AJ on the other side.

"You two are fuckin' nuts." He sighed, shaking his head. "I'm out. Call me after you two make up." He announced, looking them over then walking way, shaking his head again.

"Wow, this whole time we could've gotten out." Denise announced, looking over at Howie.

"Yeah."

"I'm glad we didn't."

He looked at her. "You are?"

She nodded. "I am, I missed you. I was wrong Howie, so wrong. And maybe...sometime we can give it a try again, if you still want me."

"Of course I still want you. I never wanted us to end."

"I know, I'm so sorry Howie." Denise sighed.

He smiled. "I want to try again, I want you."

"I want you too, I love you Howie."

"I love you too baby." He smiled, pulling her into his arms.
