Chapter 44
Rolling over, she moved in closer to him, slowly opening her eyes, sighing softly.
"Morning." He whispered.
"Mmm, morning Scott."
They looked up at each other, the impact of what they'd done, finally sinking in.
"Celeste..."
"Don't Scott, just don't say it ok? I'm not sorry, I'm not."
He hesitated a moment before responding, "Neither am I." And he really wasn't, things were different now, but in a good way and he was anxious to see what the future held.
Celeste looked up at him and smiled. "Really?"
He nodded, "Really, I think...I think part of me has been waiting for that to happen."
"I know, me too. I have to admit though, I feel bad, I really do."
"Yeah, so do I and I wasn't planning on this happening."
"Me either, I most certainly wasn't planning on...being with my boyfriend's ex's boyfriend." She winced.
"Ya know, things can't ever be the same again, you realize that."
She nodded, "I do, but...I think it's ok. I feel bad, but not like I thought I would. I think..."
"You think what?" Scott whispered.
Celeste looked down and she knew once she said the words, she wouldn't be able to take them back, what they meant and what it meant to her relationship with Nick. It was ok, she knew at this point, that she didn't care, not like she should. This was the beginning of the end and the start of something new and she was ready. Slowly she lifted her gaze to his. "I love you Scott, I've fallen in love with you."
Scott smiled softly, leaning in to kiss her gently. "I love you too Celeste."
