Chapter 15 She buried her face deeper in her pillows. Immediately her thoughts drifted back to the night before and a slow smile spread over her lips. She screamed in her pillow, she still couldn't believe it'd happened. After a while, she hadn't thought anything of it, about what she'd been doing. Rolling over, she sighed contently. She felt so good right now; her body was relaxed, still heavy from sleep. Turning her head, she looked at the clock. Almost noon, she never slept that late. She must've been really worn out. She could feel her face burning as she sat up and stretched. She felt so good. So was glad it was Saturday. She rubbed at her eyes and headed into the bathroom. She was surprised at how weak and wobbly her legs were. After cleaning up she went downstairs and got herself a glass of orange juice and sat on the couch. She wanted to call him so bad; she wanted to hear his voice. Fortunately she knew that wasn't a good idea. She knew she really didn't have reason to feel guilty about last night, they hadn't really done anything. She couldn't help but think of Vanessa though. That's it, she'd call Vanessa. She couldn't still be upset at her. Picking up the phone, she quickly dialed the number. "Hello?" "Vanessa! What's up?" "Hey Illana, long time no hear." "How are you?" "I'm alright, just working a lot and all." "How bout we go out, for the afternoon? Hang out at the mall and stuff." "Sure, sounds good. I'll meet you at "The Avenues" in an hour." "Ok, see you then." ************************************************************************ An Hour Later... "Yeah, that looks nice on you." Illana smiled, as Vanessa stood in front of the mirror. She'd been trying all afternoon to focus on Vanessa and the fact that they were hanging out after so long. Things had pretty much gotten back to normal, and neither one had mentioned Nick. Nick. He was all she thought about. She was dying to see him. To see how he felt about everything. She didn't know what he'd do. Would he act like it never happened? Would he be uncomfortable around her now? She ran her hand through her hair; she couldn't stand the waiting. "Hello! Illana!" Vanessa waved a hand in front of her. "Sorry!" "Where were you just then? You looked like you were a million miles away." "Just thinking. A lot's been going on lately." "Wanna talk about it?" That was one thing she couldn't do, especially with her. Hell, she didn't even know what was going on. "Nothing to talk about really." "You know, we haven't really hung out much lately." "Well you were upset with me. I figured you needed time to cool off." "Yeah well, it's over and done with now. You should've called, made time for me." "Well it works both ways Vanessa." "Yeah well you were the one who was wrong though Illana." "Says you." "Look, I don't want to fight about this." "Neither do I." "Fine, let's just head home then." "Alright." Not how she wanted things to end, but she wasn't, was not going to feel sorry for Vanessa when she saw for herself just how she'd been acting. They headed out the mall and into their cars and took off. |
