Chapter 27 She bent over, resting her head on her arms, a soft smile on her lips. Closing her eyes, she replayed her night with Howie over and over again. If she was quiet enough she could hear his voice, if she sat still enough; she could feel his touch, smell his cologne. "Jordan..." His hands had felt so good on her body, his lips so soft against hers, so warm. "Jordan..." She wanted so much more, she wanted what happened last night to happen all over again. The soft words and gentle touches. "JORDAN!" Her head shot up. "Yes! What? I'm here, I'm..." she blinked, looking at Trevor. "Good morning Trevor." Trevor grinned. "I never even saw you come in this morning, I thought you had called in today too." "No, I'm here. I just wanted to make sure I was on time so that I could get caught up as quick as possible." "Not much to get caught up on, you didn't really miss much yesterday." Trevor walked in, sitting on the edge of her desk. "So, how'd it go?" "How'd what go?" She asked, trying to stay elusive, burying her face in one of her folders. "Come on, spill. It must've gone great considering you called in yesterday. What was wrong? Sick?" Tired was more like it. She couldn't remember being so tired in her life. She slept all day yesterday, her body sore in areas she forgot she had. It was the best feeling though. "No I wasn't sick. Just tired, I wanted to relax, play hooky." Trevor stared at her. "What?" "You never "play hooky" What happened with you two?" "Nothing!" Trevor stared at her intently, a slow smile spreading over his lips. "You two...you..." "Trevor." She called warningly. "Damn! You did! Finally!" "Trevor!" She whined. "Please, stop this!" Trevor grinned. "Mmm hmm...anyway, here's the other file. Just needs for you to look it over and sign it. Don't forget you have appointments coming in at eleven and twelve thirty. " "I remember, thanks." "Do you need anything? Coffee, juice, a blanket?" Trevor smirked. "Out Trevor." "A pillow or a teddy bear maybe?" "Trevor...Out! Now!" Jordan pointed to the door. Trevor grinned, whistling as he made his way out the door, shutting it softly behind him. Rolling her eyes, Jordan went back the folder, looking the papers over. God but she was antsy, she wanted to go home, she wanted to get up and do something. She couldn't stand sitting like she used to. What was she saying? Like she used to? She'd only taken one day off and now it's like she went through some transformation. A few hours later, her last appointment had just left and she was sitting at her desk, staring out the window. She sighed softly, she missed him she realized that she missed him, after what happened two nights ago, she realized her feelings for him had changed, she wanted to be with him consistently. She had the craziest urge to call him up, just to hear his voice. But she wouldn't do that. She shook her head to clear her thoughts, jumping as the phone suddenly rang. Taking a calming breath, she reached over and picked it up. "Jordan Fairview." "Jordan?" Her heart sped up. "Howie, hi." She could feel the heat rising to her cheeks. "Hi Jordan, how are you?" "I'm great, you?" "Never better. Look Jordan, I wanted to know if it would be ok if I stopped by tonight, there's something I wanna tell you." Her heart dropped. What could he want to tell her? "Sure, that'd be fine." "What time is good for you?" "How about seven?" "Great. So I'll see you then?" "Yup, see you then." "Bye Jordan." "Bye Howie." She hung up the phone and stared at it. She wondered what was going on, what he had to tell her. She was too involved now, too close and it scared her. |
