Welcome to the"city that never sleeps"... This page is designed to help you plan out your most memorable trip to New York City. Having more than 1 million residents, 500,000 restaurants and bars and some of the most historical sites the United States has to offer, narrowing down your choices is hard to do. Here, I will tell you about the transportation the city offers and some of my personal favorites the city has to offer;including, things to do, places to eat, where to shop and where the best night life occurs. I even iclude a link of where the best place to spot celebreties is! Don't stand out in the crowd as a tourist, live the life of a New Yorker and see why everyone says the catchy phrase...I LOVE NEW YORK!!!

Where To Go:

  • Central Park

    Stretching over 843 acres throughout the heart of New York City is one of the most beautiful public parks in the world. Central Park is located between 59th and 110th Streets, which is over 50 blocks! Pack a lunch for a picnic, take a horse-drawn carriage ride or go for a run, Central Park has many things to offer. The most beautiful part of the park is Bethesda Fountain, which is located at 72nd St. At times you forget that you're in New York City. Between its landscape and the amount of people that occupy the park everyday, you feel like you have escaped into the country side. Central Park allows you to leave the city atmosphere, without leaving the city. Check out the official site of Central Park for more information on concerts, tours or special events.

  • Statue of Liberty

    Also known as "Enlightening the World", this monumentous statue is one of America's most famous symbols of freedom. To get to the Statue of Liberty you must take a ferry out to the island. The ferry leaves from Castle Clinton which is in Battery Park on the southern tip of Manhattan. At times Liberty Island is temporarily closed so check out this site for updates.

  • Times Square

    Times Square is one of New York's most visited sections of the city. It's the only place who's lights are so bright that in the middle of the night you think it's the afternoon. With over 50 supersigns, including the infamous Dow Jones "Zipper", NBC Astrovision and billboard posters you could see for miles, Times Square is one of the biggest attractions New York City has to offer. If you show up to Times Square at around 3:00 p.m. you could check out a taping of Total Request Live where MTV studios are located.

  • The Bronx Zoo

    The Bronx Zoo is the largest Metropolitan Zoo in the nation, offering over 6,000 animals over a span of 265 acres. Located in the Bronx, a borough Northeast of New York City, the 2 or 5 subway will take you right to the zoo from New York City. They recently opened a Congo Gorilla Exhibit that brings you into the African rain Forest. The Bronx Zoo offers animals from Baboons to Polar Bears to Beetles. This experience is enjoyable for all age groups. As a note, Wednesdays are FREE for everyone, except in the winter months.

  • Yankee Stadium

    After a memorable afternoon at the Bronx Zoo, hop on the D line subway and head over to the infamous Yankee Stadium, that is also located in the Bronx. Also known as "The House that Ruth Built", Yankee Stadium has more history than any other stadium in the country. Hosting a World Champion baseball team, the New York Yankees, your trip will never be complete without checking out a game. Monument Park, which is located behind the left-field fence, is a must see for any baseball lover. Some players that are recognized in Monument Park are Babe Ruth, Roger Maris, Reggie Jackson, Don Larsen and many others that has brought the New York Yankees 26 world championships, more than any other Major League baseball team.   • Best Pizza

    *GRIMALDI'S PIZZA* Get off the first stop on the other side of the East River and head south towards the harbor and you will come upon heaven on Earth. This pizzeria, located in Brooklyn, is New York pizza at its finest. Red and white checkered tablecloths, pictures from people like Frank Sinatra cover the wall and an oldie classic playing from the jukebox makes Grimaldi's the best pizza restaurant New York has to offer.Above is their official site that tells you about its 2 locations and more about their mouth watering pizza.

  • Best Romantic Restaurant

    *RIVER CAFE* Around the corner from GRIMALDI'S, is one of the most romantic restaurants that New York City has to offer. Located along the East River with breathtaking views of the Brooklyn Bridge, this restaurant is my choice for a special occasion. Offering everything from fresh seafood, to chicken, to veal and beef, the River Cafe offers a succulent menu and I promise you won't go home unhappy. Impress someone special with an evening that they will never forget.

  • Best Deli

    *CARNEGIE DELI* If you're looking for a tasty, lean deli sandwich then look no further than Carnegie Deli, located in the Upper East Side of the New York City. Walls that are covered with autographs of all the celebreties that have ate there in the past, sets this deli aside from others. Known for their pastrami and corned beef sanwiches, this deli is infamous for their sandwiches that are piled high with fresh meats. Although this deli is pricier than most other deli's, ranging anywhere between $20-$30, it is worth the trip over to experience a delicatessen at its finest.

  • Best Italian Restaurant

    *CARMINE'S* Located in the Upper West Side, this homestyle Italian restaurant offers some of the best food and wine in New York City. Their generous, family style portions are made for serving. Upon entering the restaurant you are embraced as one of the family. Shopping:

  • Rockefellar Center

    Known for the greatest Christmas tree in the world, Rockefeller Center has more to offer than that. Radio City Music Hall, a skating rink and the studio's of Saturday Night Live, the Today Show and the Late Night with Conan O'Brien are offered at Rockefeller Center, along with some of the best shopping the city has to offer. Offering Coach, Kenneth Cole, Sephora, The French Connection and many others, this underground shopping district has something for everyone.

  • Bloomingdale's

    Located on 59th and Lexington Avenue, on the East Side, Bloomingdale's is a store that you cannot pass up. Bloomingdale's specializes in designer brand name clothes and accessories for men, women, juniors and children. Calvin Klein, Coach, Dooney and Bourke, Via Spiga and many more are just some examples of the designers that are offered at Bloomingdale's. No trip to New York City is complete without a little brown bag from "Bloomies".

  • Canal Street

    Along side downtown Manhattan's sidewalk cafes, tiny stores and restaurants is some of the best shopping that New York City has to offer. Canal Street specializes in trendy, hip clothing and accessories. Canal Street is quite long and extends from the West Side Highway across to Broadway. Here is a map to guide you along Canal Street and make your shopping experience more enjoyable and easy.

  • Fifth Avenue

    The heart of Manhattan retail is located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street. There was once a time when only the very rich could make this sacred crossroads their prime shopping site. Not anymore, now that Tiffany & Co., sits along side stores like Warner Bros. Studios. In addition, a good number of mainstream retailers, like Banana Republic, are located along Fifth Ave.,as well. Still, you will find a number of big-name designers including Versace, Chanel, Dior, and Cartier. The following web site is a map of Fifth Ave., and all the store locations.

Nightlife:

  • Best Night Club

    *EXIT* With the new renovations that were done in early September of 2002, Exit is now the East Coast's largest nightclub. Located midtown on West 56th St., this club plays host to some of the biggest DJ's in the world. Names like Paul Oakenfold, DJ Clue and Paul Van Dyke are just a few headline names that have spun at this world famous dance club in the heart of New York City. The nightclub is split into 4 floors, with various music theme's in each room. Ambient, Hip Hop, House, Lounge/Retro, Techno and Trance are all the types of music that will fill the club until the early hours of the morning. Friday nights generally tend to be their biggest nights. Check this web site out for further information on Exit and hundreds of other club New York City has to offer.

  • Best Sports Bar

    *BLONDIE'S* New York is home to some of the greatest sports fans in the world. Blondie's, which is on Upper West Side of the city, is a prime example of how crowded sports bars can get. With team jerseys and pennants hanging from the walls, and not to mention big-screen televsions, Blondie's is the perfect place to get together with some friends and watch the game.   • Best Place to Spot Celebrities

    *CHINA CLUB* China Club plays host to some of the biggest A-list celebrities. Stars like Bruce Willis, Derek Jeter, Tyra Banks and Bon Jovi are just a few of the celebrities that choose this night club over all the others in New York City.
