| Video Critique Your overall objective is to provide a three-page typewritten critical analysis on any one video presentation. Yes, any video I "aiar" will do so long as you have sufficient notes and confidence to provide a professional assessment. Although this critique is due on the 17th week of the semester, all students have the option of submitting a timely "rough draft" for a preliminary grade. Please pace yourself accordingly. Moreover, I will make myself available to ensure you a success paper. Parameters Substantive: Provide a brief summary of the video. This can be accomplished in no more than two paragraphs of 4-5 sentences each. Make sure that you select a video that moves you! After you provide a brief summary, you either can assess the whole video or perhaps a component of it. For example, in "Aztec" you can analyze the specifiic destruction of the Aztec culture or take a "broader" approach and analze the concept "conquest." Be creative so long as the assessment is complete. Make sure you criticize the video. By this I do not mean whether you like or dislike the video.. You need to provide aggressive critical analysis supported by logic. Remember that there are no right or wrong responses, but you will have to defend your contentions in a reasonable and logical manner. |
