Dear Students,
I want to congratulate each and every one of you for your decision to enroll at Southwestern College, and in particular in my classroom.  I am extremely excited about your presence and I am determined to provide you with the best in education.  I want you to appreciate that I have two goals for this semester: First, to teach the history and culture of Mexican Americans in a sensitive and professional manner; and, second, to seed the love of learning in the hearts of all students.  Lets us work together for the next 18 weeks to ensure your success.

Para todos que se matricularon en Southwestern College, y en mi salón, un gran bienvenidos.  Estoy encantado con su presencia y espero darles lo mejor en educación.  Mi objetivos más importantes para este semestre son dos:  Primeramente, impartir la historia y cultura de nuestra gente en este país; y también, tratar de sembrar el amor para aprender  en ustedes.  Trabajaremos juntos para tener un gran éxito este semestre.
