Thank you Dean for all your work on my website! I will have to keep the pictures going along with the stories.

Here is some Aussie lingo for you to post.

'Shout' means to buy a round at the bar for you and your 'Mates' if this happens when there are like 8 of you, you only have to buy one round by the end of the nite because you won't really need anymore.
'good on ya mate' means good for you.
'yaright' means youre okay.
'Kiwi' is a New Zealander, and you don't want to call an Ausie a 'Kiwi': it's like calling canadians american. There are many more that we have heard and are not appropriate in Canada.
If you want to hear some Ausie comedy music pick up some Kevin "bloody" Wilson.
'PAHM's (sound like POMs) are English folks and you can't call them that unless you know them. This is due to their cricket rivalries with the English.
'Boozer' is a pub. This is debatable because Kiwis use this term, too.
'Bottle-O' is the liquor store. They are also called Bottle Stores.
'Sheilla or Broad' is a female, 'Bloke' is a male.

Some interesting facts:

New South Whales (where I am right now) is where all the English convicts were sent when Australia was first found. in 1901 the Ausies abbolished any sort of 'WOG' (our version of 'wop') from immigrating to their country. Australia is now struggling to push citizens to have babies because everyone is more interested in travelling. Therefore most females are not becoming pregnant until early to late 30's. This is a potential problem for immigration to kick up again. There are animals here that are like rats that the males only live to be 10 months old. They mate and die. So, there are no males of this species during August. They think this is to allow for more food for the females and new rapidly growing babies. A common chant here is "ausie ausie ausie" "oy oy oy" "Ausie" "oy" "Ausie" "oy" "ausie ausie ausie" "oy oy oy"!!! There will be more for you to add at a later date.

Trip Update

P.S. we landed in Sydney and were supposed to go to Melbourne but, have headed up towards Brisbane instead beacause we can take the train all the way and stop at many cities along the way. We are in Newcastle right now. We left Wollongong (1 hr South of Syd.) today at 10 a.m. and had a delay due to a storm knocking a tree on to the tracks. We should have been in Newcastle at 4 p.m. but got here at 5:15 instead.
I will talk to you later
