Lexi, Tammy's Yorkshire Terrier
Lexi was the first dog that Tammy picked out for herself.  Tammy's Mom had had a couple dogs, Rusty and Brownie, and Tammy had previously owned a couple of guinea pigs (Baguette and Marquis) along with the ferrets (Scully and Sebastian).  But when Tammy bought her first house, she was excited about finally being able to have her own dog.  She wanted a little dog that she could hold, and she liked how Yorkies looked, so she picked out Lexi.  Lexi and Tammy became very attached to each other.  Lexi was always very happy when Tammy came home.  Lexi would stand up on her hind legs and shake with excitement, and her lips would pull back; Tammy would say, "Show me all your teeth, Lexi!  Smile!"  Soon afterwards, Tammy picked up another Yorkie from the animal shelter; she named him Dexter.  Dexter was a good-looking dog; both his ears were pointy, while Lexi had one lazy ear that she only raised when something caught her attention.  Dexter just couldn't be housetrained, unfortunately, so Tammy's Mom took him home to Colorado.  After that, Tammy decided she wanted a miniature schnauzer; she liked how they looked so serious.  So she got Tyler from a breeder.  At first, Lexi wasn't happy, but she got used to Tyler soon enough.  Before long, Tyler was bigger than Lexi; by the time he stopped growing, he was about halfway between a miniature and a standard schnauzer.  Later, Tammy got another miniature schnauzer, Hunter.  Hunter was normal sized for the breed, but his hair was unusually fine and white for a schnauzer, not silver like Tyler's.  Hunter and Lexi ended up having a litter; Tammy gave away 2 of the puppies and kept one, who she named Blade (after the Wesley Snipes movie).  Sadly, Lexi died about a year later; she was so high-strung, I think her little heart just gave out.  Later, Tammy got a silky terrier named Mackenzie, but he became very sick (possibly because of a too-powerful vaccination shot) and Tammy had to give him to a veterinarian who could take care of him.  A little while later, Tammy got another silky named Kipper.
