5/30/03 jordyn: heres my exciting conversation with rj from  THROWNOUT, a punk band from las vegas. yes.
Jordyn: What is your name and what is your position in the band?
RJ: My name is RJ and I play bass and Manny is the guitarist.

Jordyn: Is anyone else in the band?
RJ: Yes, there are 4 of us. There is Chris the singer and Jacob the drummer.

Jordyn: How did you guys meet?
RJ: Well, we all went to school with each other and we met that way except our drummer we met him through Chris' brother.

Jordyn: what school do you guys go to?
RJ: Las Vegas High School
Jordyn: very nice....
RJ: yup

Jordyn: How did you guys decide to start a band?
RJ: Manny and Chris have been trying to start a band for a while and I was in a different band but got asked to be in Thrownout because they needed a bassist and it just got taken off from there. I guess you can say it was spur the moment and have a practice and just jam.

Jordyn: What is the story behind your guys' name?  Have you ever been thrown out of a venue/store/restaurant/bar mitzvah/etc.?
RJ: We all have been thrownout of a band and we just thought it would fit us because of that.

Jordyn: makes sense....How would you describe your music for potential listeners?
RJ: Well I don't know we are a cross of different things we have punk beats with metal riffs and hardcore singing. The singing isn't full hardcore though.

Jordyn: So who are your guys' influences?
RJ: Atreyu, Thrice, Split Seven, Your Last Breath, and also just local bands like Biznut.

Jordyn: Speaking of local bands...what do you think of the Vegas scene?
RJ: Its alright, like there are some great bands that need to be recognized like The Pinheads and Absent Minded. It really depends on the type of music you like, now its mostly hardcore bands and emo.
Jordyn: What do you think of the kids who are active in the scene? and the attitude?
RJ: I think a lot of them are fake. They just do it to be cool and talk to a lot of crap other than that the kids that aren't fake are cool. They don't really have an attitude unless someone is talking crap or something.

Jordyn: And what kind of topics do you guys' address in your songs?
RJ: Everything...like girls...Jesus...religious stuff

Jordyn: Jesus?
RJ: lol...yeah...

Jordyn: are you guys a Christian band?
RJ: not fully, we have like 2 Christian songs

Jordyn: That's cool i guess,  do you feel that the local kids are accepting towards bands with Christian tendencies?
RJ: yes

Jordyn: Good to hear, ok, name something your fans might not be aware of.
RJ: That we don't do drugs and we are kind of stupid as in people wise and our songs have meaning to us.

Jordyn: If you were marooned on a desert island, which member of the band would you eat first? and why?
RJ: We would eat Chris because he is the fattest and would probably taste the best.
Jordyn: awww....

Jordyn: What is in your cd player right now?
RJ: The Ataris and Biznut

Jordyn: What is the most embarrassing cd that you own? About half the people I interview say "The Sign" by Ace of Base...
RJ: Blink 182
Jordyn: which one? Then again...they are all kind of embarrassing...
RJ: All of them except Dude Ranch.

Jordyn: If you had 24 hours to live what would you do?
RJ: Go play video games and get laid and eat and sleep in.
Jordyn: get laid...how sweet....
RJ: lol

Jordyn: What kind of first impressions do you give?
RJ: nerdy and funny

Jordyn: any shoutouts?
RJ: umm to Elly my gf, to Andrea, my mom and my dad and the rest of my bands and all my friends...

Jordyn: Alrighty, well that is it for us here, unless you feel there is something else that needs to be addressed...
RJ: umm I cant think of anything except do you think you can get us any shows...
