| WE ARE HERE !!!!!!! yes, we made it across the country without being arrested,hitting a wild burro (there are signs in NV for those), careening into a ditch, or beaten up on the side of the road by angry motorists at our driving. anyway .. so far so good. we left STL at like 5on thursday, drove through the night and slept on the side of the road in TX. got up the next day, had breakfast at that Big Texan place. (Me and Dorsey didn't get the big steak) then crashed in flagstaff friday night, and then made it to vegas on saturday afternoon. believe it or not, the key to the city wasn't waiting for us. stayed in sat night. sunday went mountain-biking in the desert and at night went to coyote ugly at NYNY and Red Square at Mandalay. actually ran into Mike Tyson later on in the evening at a bar. Suprisingly, he didn't have a team of handlers with him .... shocking. yesterday and today we have been pretty much just chilling getting to know the area. just got back from buying hockey sticks. so far so good .. .vegas is cool ... weather rocks. i mean, we have only been here three days, so it's hard to make the a judgement. as far as jobs are concerned. we are prolly going to go ahead and get certified by Mandalay Bay to be lifegaurds (they have a free class this weekend) on FRI and work there for a couple weeks to just get a tan and then meet people so we can go to that pool anytime, which is supposed to be the bomb, even after we find some higher paying jobs. im +12 so far ... the flames won me 25, but the kings lost me 12 last night. FUNNY STORIES FROM THE ROAD: we had those MOTOROLA Talbkabouts, so were able to talk the whole time. anyway, at one point dorsey was hungry so fired a BALANCE bar across the highway into his window ... and actually had to do some off-roading with the truck in Flagstaff, Az. those moving trucks cannot back up. the shit you are hauling gets all screwed up if you hit reverse.so, somehow someway i ended up trapped in a Pizza Hut parking lot, and the only way to get out was to go FWD over a curb over a sidewalk and onto the main thoroghfare. it was funny shit. this next stuff may be morally wrong, but it was hilarious. OK i'm driving dorsey's civic and he is driving the truck. im in the left lane, he is in the right. when some cool guy would was riding my bumper, dorsey would pull right next to me, basically blocking the highway, and then i would lift up my right hand with my cell phone in it, and act like i was dialing now, picture this, you have a civic infront of you, and a moving truck to the right going 60MPH on the hihway, and the guy is BLATANTLY on a cell phone. just think how fired up you would be !! im like nodding moving my hands, like im making some big business deal or something. needless to say we got flipped off like 10 times. then when they would pass me id give em the "drunk guy about to pass out" face from New Orleans MLK '02. heh ... needed something to do to keep our mind off the 26 hour drive. anyway, ummm ill be updating the journal every few days as needed, and pics will be up in a matter of hours to all our friends, you are more than welcome to crash anytime ... scott |
