VVDOC is a non-profit organization. We offer training sessions three times a year, AKC-licensed trials two times a year, participate in various dog related functions, and offer obedience demonstrations at local events and to local schools.
Club meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month at 7pm at the Mike Hines Ranch,

***CLASSES***
The obedience classes offered are for puppy, beginner (large and small dogs in separate groups) and advanced beginner levels. Pre-novice and Novice level classes are offered based on student interest and instructor availability.
Specialty classes such as Rally (novice, advanced and excellent levels) and Canine Good Citizen are also offered.
All class sizes are limited.
All of our classes are six weeks long and are taught by our volunteer club members who own and train their own dogs. We use buckle or slip collars. We do not use any harsh training methods. We allow food, toys or whatever it takes to motivate your dog.
Puppy classes get the little ones socialized and introduced to the basic skills of walking nicely on lead, coming when called, sitting, and laying down.
In beginners classes the dogs learn how to heel, sit, down, stay, come and be otherwise well-behaved canine citizens.
Advanced beginner classes expand on the skills learned in the beginner sessions and get you and your dog ready for off-lead heeling.
Pre-novice and Novice classes advance to off-lead heeling and preparing to show in competitive obedience trials.
!!BIG NEWS for MIXED BREEDS!!
The AKC has voted to proceed with a program for mixed breeds to participate in performance sports.
As of October 1, 2009, owners can begin enrolling pets to receive an AKC ID number.
Beginning April 1, 2010, enrolled dogs will be eligible to compete in mixed breed classes at stand-alone AKC Agility, Obedience, and Rally events.

OBEDIENCE CLASSES
ARE HELD THURSDAYS AT 7:30PM AT DOG FANCIERS PARK, 5800 E.Flamingo Road.
SPECIALTY CLASSES are also held Thursdays at Dog Fanciers Park, but with special start times. They are noted with the specialty class session dates.
All classes are 6 weeks in length and begin at 7:30pm and end at 8:30 pm - except the first night, which starts at 7pm.

Please DO NOT bring dogs to registration.
DO bring proof of shots. Proof of shots is required at the time of class registration.
Training collars and leashes are available for purchase at registration and before all classes.
All regular classes are $65.00 for the six week session.
Ask about our senior discount for age 60 and over.
Specialty class fees vary.
