| Guatemala City, Guatemala. The first seizure of counterfeit goods in ports of Guatemala, applying border measures under the country's Intellectual Property Law (Decree 57-2000), was conducted. The investigation made by J. Vega & Asociados lead to the seizure of a 40' container where counterfeit jeans were found, in Puerto Quetzal. Personnel of the Port Authority and the Customs Administration (SAT) assisted the court. Since the new IP Law is in force, (November 2000) several other seizures have been successfully conducted in Guatemala in coordination with J. Vega & Asociados. More at: http://www.j-vega.com |
