Welcome to our DragonBall Z rpg. Although the title states it is a DBZ rpg, characters may progress to levels only seen in GT, so it isn't really important. As you will probably soon come to realise, we are very different from many DB based rpg's that you may come across, and hopefully we are better than most to, or at least, will be over time. Many sites use horrendously complex rules, and stat based systems. In this rpg, this is not the case, we keep the fighting simple, throught the use of online calculators and such, but still have character depth, in order for each of you to be unique. Hopefully, you will develope an affinity with your character, as should be the case with any role-play, as after all, it is acting the part of someone else, someone that you have created. It is such that characters here should aim to develop their backgrounds through in depth and compelling stories, but more of that later.
The Rpg
The rpg is 'based' on mainly the DBZ series. This is due to the fact that no official Power Level listings occur beyond the 'Future Trunks Saga,' so basing it entirely on GT would be hard. Also, it is only 'based' on DBZ, as it is not necessarily set in the same time as the series. Therefore, there are to be NO characters taken from the series, as this would confuse things somewhat, and would mean the character would be severly limited, as they would have to act as they do in the series, and besides, it isn't very original at all.
This brings me to another point, the aim of this rpg is to be original, so please make your own characters, and preferably with names you have invented. Basically, no characters called Gandalf664444 or similiar will be admitted (also, no fusion characters, as this would mean being essentially two people.)
Also, to keep distance from the series, there must be no involvement of DB/DBZ/DB GT characters whatsoever, as this again would throw out the timeline. If one person decides they meet Gohan just after he kills Cell, then not only will everyone have to be at the same point in time as you, but you are placing yourself in the series, which is not our aim. We are not trying to 'rewrite' anything. This is NOT an 'alternate universe' rpg.
Again, i must stress that we are separate from that universe, but at the same time part of it.
Game Modes
There are two different 'modes' in this game, story mode, and fighting mode:
Story Mode
This is essentially the message board, and involves training and stories that you have written for your character (adventures, travels, etc.). Bear in mind that these stories must be original, and as in depth as possible. It is often a good idea to sketch out a basic outline for the story, and then post sections of it up each week. Stories must also be convincing, anything gained, be it PL, items, or anything must be gained in an appropriate manner, so there will be no 'Gandalf66949483 killed his an opponent of 1000 PL, and gained 10000000000000000000 PL, a sword of killing in one blow, the rights to the galaxy, and a block of cheese.'
Stories should be enjoyable to write, and interesting for the reader, so do your best to adhere to this please.
Fighting Mode
The second of the two modes is basically a chat based fight between two or more players (mostly it will be two), alongside a moderator. This mode will be used for tournaments, comptetions, etc.
Well, that is about it for this little introduction. If you wish to join the rpg, then please carefully and thoroughly read the rules section. Once you have done this, you must read through all of the other pages as well. If i get a request for a character to be good allied Saiyan with Namek only moves, then you will be told to go back and read the sections again, until you have realised what a fool you have made of yourself.
