You stare at your dissolving hands in horror, watching as first your fingers, and then palms, begin to lose their shape.
"Look Away! Look Away!" You hear Cl'eir's vioce as if from a great distance."Please!" She calls out, "Look away! Come to me stranger!" You lift your head, slowly, from your dissolving wrists, you feel as if a great wieght were pushing down on you, and then at the last minute your head snaps back up and you are staring into the terrified eyes of Cl'eir. She flys to you and pulls you behind a nearby tree. You hear her utter a meaningless noise of terror before turning to you.
"I know now!" She cries. " I know!"
"What do you know?" You ask in bewilderment.
"I know why the ferns said you should be here!" She exclaims. A screach is heard from the other side of the tree. " But we cannot speak here! There will be a council held at Sunset Springs beneath the falls, to get there you must envoke the Chi` Runis Spell-" At that moment four great black claws tear the tree trunk beside you and you know that you have mere seconds before their owner's head, and more importantly it's teeth and eyes, follow. You turn and flee into the night..... |
