Raqs Gothique Mission Statement 2008, by Ma'isahRaqs Gothique continues to evolve and '08 is no different. Some things will be developed and continue to improve and grow, other things will be left behind as fresh new ideas take hold. I have chosen to dedicate 2008 entirely to evolving Gothique Fusion performances to the next level. To solidify this, there are no more weekly classes for 2008. I continue to offer dedicated workshops, with my signature grounded and open teaching style. 2008 is my year for continual development for myself, my troupe, and my workshops. With a stronger and exciting new practice I strive to evolve and challenge myself with honesty, integrity and above all joy. My GOAL: to strive to re-create the benchmark of Gothique Fusion belly dance. My vision began with a dream in 1999, and evolved to become a troupe in 2005, has expanded to include a public solo profile for myself and in 2007 Raqs Gothique evolved from performances, to classes and workshops. The direction shifted to more solo performances and SERPENTSKIRT, the Raqs Gothique advanced student project was born.
