On July
20, Eugene will play a session on the Scottish radio
show Beatscene Beat 106 somewhere in between
7-11pm. I believe that is the GMT time zone.
Those who can't tune in via radio can also listen to
it via streaming media at
www.beat106.com.

You can buy Eugene's new E.P.,
Older Faster, now at several online shops, such as
Rough Trade. There will also be a reissue of
Oomalama on July 28. It will come with a bonus
cd titled 'Captain America Rides Again' which will
feature material from some Captain America E.P.s +
more. Neat huh? You'll be able to buy it
from Opalmusic.com
or Fire records.

(Cut
and pasted just for you)
Monorail
music is very proud to announce a special evening with
Eugene Kelly, which will mark the release of his new
ep, older faster on the geographic label. Eugene's new
music as represented on this ep seems closer to the
innocent sound of the Vaselines than most of his 1990s
music, albeit richly Coloured by a reflective neo-folky
quality; it is all somewhat gorgeous. Eugene will be
available to sign copies of older faster and will
perform a few songs. we hope you'll consider making an
evening of it in mono, we will have some special dj's
(Teenage Fanclub) on too.
Saturday 21st June, 6.30 pm.

Two bits of really good news!
Eugene will be opening for Teenage Fanclub on their UK tour. Check
the tour dates page to find out when & where. Eugene will also be
releasing a new single, "Older Faster", on Geographic

The Last Great
Wilderness has hit theatres in the U.K. (sorry U.S.)
and here is a
link to a decent review. It
doesn't mention anything about Eugene though, so I'm
not entirely sure if he is actually in the film.
If anyone sees the movie please confirm. As a
heads up, you may want to check out the soundtrack. ---Thanks
Allan for the tip

Latest post from
Eugene:'"My album, Man
Alive, is now finished and I am now in the process of
finding a label that will put it out some time in the
new year."
June 1, 2002
Remember that
movie I mentioned a while back? The title is "The Last
Great Wilderness" and Eugene Kelly makes a guest
appearance in it. It hasn't been released yet and I
have no idea what it's supposed to be about. I wonder
if it will ever reach the shores of America.
May 26, 2002
It's a new dawn, it's a new
day, it's a new life for Eugene. This was posted by
Eugene on the Teenage Fanclub board: "I'm really enjoying playing live
just now and, this year alone, have played shows
supporting Jon Auer, Belle and Sebastian, Ken
Stringfellow and Evan Dando and will be at King Tuts
with Neil Halstead from Mohave 3. The title of the
(new)
album is 'Man Alive' and the sleeve photo was supposed
to be a picture of me naked as Adam looking for Eve in
the garden of Eden but i chickened out, so back to the
drawing board."

A very kind gal named Maureen
sent me an e-mail after seeing Eugene Kelly open for
Belle & Sebastian in Italy. She said that Eugene
played alone with just acoustic guitar and harmonica.
He played a couple of Vaseline's songs at the show:
Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam & Molly's Lips. Wish
I could've been there : (
March 18,2002
I received an e-mail that a
tour date is posted for Eugene Kelly and Evan Dando.
The performance will be on April 28 @ the Forum in
Aberdeen (Scotland). For less confusion, here is the
link
to the listing.
April 25, 2001
Eugene Kelly makes
another guest appearance! Is he the king of guest
appearances or what? This time he appears on the
Future Pilot AKA album "Tiny Waves Might See".
January 15,2001
Superstar will release a
bonus disc in limited quantities with the release of
their new LP, "Six More Songs". Eugene Kelly guests on
one of the songs included on the bonus disk.
September 14,2000
I have received news from Ken
of
www.powerpop.org
that
Eugenius along with Superstar will be playing at the
Knitting Factory in New York on October 25th. If
anyone went to the show please drop me a line or a
review that I can post. Thanks again Ken.
August 30,2000
Unfortunately there's not
a lot of news to report on Eugene or Eugenius. Most
recently Eugene appeared on a tribute to the Beach
Boys called Caroline Now with other indie supertstars.
He also made a few tour appearances in the UK last year.
