Velyr were genitically designed to live on a desert planet.  Our bodies will only digest liquid protein (yes, blood, but also milk, eggs, and synthetic drinks).  We are a good bit stronger than humans, as our planet has a slightly higher gravity than Earth does.

We're a much more technological society than humans.  Our culture was created rather than evolved, so we started at a more advanced level.  Sharing technology is one of our little no-no's, though, so we keep quiet about the things we could do for you.

Here at Darksyde, we integrate technology quietly and efficiently into human society.  Basically, we take what you're already working on and improve it just a bit - not enough that we're interfering with your development.  We're working on artificial intelligence along with you, for that is one of the secrets our creators kept to themselves.

As the oldest velyr on Earth, I feel responsible, in a way, for the others stranded here.  They look to me for guidance when they don't know how to respond.  I try to present the perfect image of a mature velyr gracefully approaching old age.  You must remember, however, that this image (to a human) is something of a cross between Mr. Spock and Tigger.

.I am also responsible for providing shelter for my fellow exiles.  Darksyde Industries provides the perfect cover, "employing" thousands of velyr whose only job is to remain safely within the company grounds.

One current project is to locate as many exiles as possible.  Perhaps you've seen our ads.  Perhaps they looked entirely ordinary to your human senses.  Rest assured that, to a velyr, our message screams from the background.  We've already attracted quite a few velyr in this fashion.
