Generous hosstess in the water,                 you are the fairest amongst wives!

Wellamo, The queen of waters, is beautifull to look at. Her billow hair is like a golden cloak, that reaches down to her knees. Milkwhite skin is covered by even more white clothing.     Wellamo's gentle nature is well known in underwater and the ground. Enraged Ahti can crash your boat or reap your nets if you have done against him and the waters, but Wellamo only greaves quietly and drives fish away from sewers, factories and fertilizers that make the water bad for them.

The waterqueen is diligent wife. From the early sunrice to late night she hurries in her endless works. Heals sick fishes and crabs, makes finest cloths from seagrass, takes care of her beautifull cattle...

If you meet the waterqueen herself, remember to greet her politely. Wellamo can offer you more than just a good catch and she can reward you with princely manner.

Cattle of the waterqueen

The hostess got a fine cattle of cows, that pastures on the ground at night time. When the mornign comes and birds start their singing, Wellamo raises on meadows to call them home for morning milk like any woman.     Watercows look just like normal cows, exept that they are stronger and cleaner and finer than any cow owned by humans. You can be sure that you have seen Wellamo's cattle if you see a fin on their belly.

People are allways desired to own a Wellamo's cow. At Early times, human's cattle didn't give milk at deepwinter, but watercows were good around the year. If one got a cow like that, milk and precious butter were not missin from the kitchen even at winter. Wellamo's cattle got one more good reason to make people want them. The cow will allways fill the holder where you are milking it, no matter if it was cup or barrel. This is why these cows are still respected and wanted.
