Major Countries of Iamoore

What follows is summary information concerning the empires that make up the known world of Iamoore.

Archeon: The youngest of the large empires. Archeon grew out of the wreckage of the ancient kingdom of Azzare, which fell during the gem wars leaving the human populace scattered into several warring tribes. Eventually, a strong leader rose forging these isolated towns into a single mighty empire. The new land took its name and based it capitol in Archeon, the last remaining city still intact from the old kingdom.

Government: Archeon has based its current system upon the feudal order used by the Sidanthra. The exception being the Emperor has total authority over the kingdom.

Religion: Archeon has diversity of faiths within its borders although followers of Silvanus are looked on with suspicion being the major deity of the hated elves. The so-called evil deities such as Malice and Lovitar are not worshipped openly thought they do have a few temples hidden away and are tolerated.

Social: They adhere a strict caste system. No person of Archeon ever marries out of his or her station. Those that do are looked upon with disdain and often ostracized by the society. Despite the strong religious tolerance, anyone who deviates from normal behavior is hated. Slavery is permitted in Archeon though their use is sparse and the practice seems to be dying out.

Attitude: Archeons are aggressive and expansionistic in nature. They have taken most of their lands by force of arms. There long-standing hatred of elves as race, in fact Archeons have a tendency to look down upon anyone not of the empire.

Camora: There is an old saying in Iamoore. “Never leave your horse or ship unattended in Camora or someone will come along and sell it.” While this might be exaggeration, it is not by much. Camora entire culture is based on enterprise and profit. They don’t even have a standing army, preferring to hire mercenaries. Since they sell to anyone almost anything, they manage to stay out of most conflicts. They were largely unaffected by the gem wars.

Government: Camora utilizes Council of Commerce for their government ran by the most successful merchants in the kingdom. The belief is those who are successful in business are more then capable of running the kingdom.

Religion: Is very tolerated here, even the evil deities are worshipped openly or at least given lip service to.

Social:  The social order as one might suspect is based on wealth. He who has the gold makes the rules is very true in Camora. Camorans tolerate anything that means profit to them. This is one of the few places were slavery is used heavily. Most of the labor force of Camora is made up of slaves. Slaves are also used as servants and the number of slaves is a status symbol in Camora.

Attitude: They are not aggressive as a country. In fact, the more varied the political economic landscape the better for them. They do have a long memory and have an almost fanatical hatred of raiders and pirates who often plunder the rich caravans and ships of their land. To Camorans the this incursion on trade is capitol offense never to be tolerated or forgiven

Elvenrule: The name actually says it all. Elvenrule is controlled and populated by elves period. There have been very few other races permitted to enter this region. Early on, Archeon attempted to invade but was repelled thanks to the strict military of the elves and the enigmatic flying ships of their race.  This is the only time Archeon was defeated in combat.

Government: Elvenrule is controlled by the senior families of silver elf branch of the race, ten in all. There is a noble class in Elvenrule consisting of families.

Religion: Only Silvanus and Mathnyr are followed here and no others are tolerated
.
Social:  Elves are based on a family system much like that of the Scotts. The elves are unique in that they have a very strict caste system based on the color tint of their skin:
Silver. These are the ruling families of the kingdom. They practice what is known as high magik and are considered the nobility of the land. They also make up the priests
Gold: These are the worker families performing the basic labors and trades in the society. They are also the most tolerant of the elves. A few gold elves have even married humans though found them expelled from their family as a result. They perform what is known as basic magik used for mundane matters.
Bronze: These are the warrior clans of the kingdom. Their sole purpose is to defend the homeland and will gladly give their lives to do so. Elven Bronze elves are the most feared in the land of Iamoore. They use a form of battle magik to enhance their combat abilities and weapons.
One note, all elves practice magik in some form though not all utilize it.

Attitude: To they are xenophobic would be putting it mildly though this may be a good thing for the other kingdoms. They have no desire to pollute their culture with barbarian ways and prefer to exist behind the wall of massive forest separating them from the rest of the world. Any elf that leaves Elvenrule does so with the understanding they may never return, though a few gold elves have been known to cross the border.

Great Kingdom: The once mighty land of the God-kings has fallen upon dire times. T he old ruling family was ousted in a coo and replaced by one supported by the followers of Malice. The kingdom is currently being taxed into poverty and many of their proud towns have been destroyed by the ongoing war with Light Warriors of Sidanthra

Government: Though once ruled by a Rah Aahamun, an ancestral ruling family aided by council of 12 representing a person from each province. A despot calling himself an Emir now controls them.

Religion: No worship other then that of Malice is tolerated. Any others are tortured and put to death.

Social: The small ruling class holds total control of the country treating most everyone else as slaves. Many of the once proud people have become refugees fleeing the land for Camora and Sidanthra. A number of the populous have even been sold to Camora as slaves in exchange for weapons.

Attitude: What can one say about the general populace except a total feeling of despair under the heavy yoke of the current regime? The land is filled with warriors in service of Malice who may demand what they want has the fight the insane and to many pointless war. Only the prophecy that two born of this land from the same mother but as different as night and day will shall one day free the land and return the old order.

Sidanthra:  The land of the enlightened or so it has been called. This is the native land of some of the greatest human mages to walk the planet including the Seer Orisa. The kingdom managed to survive the great Gem Wars having none of the hate Gem Kings based in their land, though they did suffer some losses from the conflict.

Government: They do have a feudal system of sorts including a king who sets upon the throne and is chosen among the Barons of the ruling class. The king actually heads up an assembly of Barons who govern the land. The king does have the right to declare war though he best have a good reason and eventually will need support from the assembly.

Religion: All good and neutral faiths are tolerated and encouraged here. Sidanthra is home of the great Defenders of the Lady or Light Warriors. These mighty champions do not fall under military of Sidanthra though as been well known they will ally themselves readily with kingdom.

Social:  This is one off thee few places other then the frontier territories, were one is not stuck at the station they are born in. A peasant may move up to royalty and conversely a noble can fall from grace.  Sidanthrians look on everything with an open mind and accept anything that does not infringe on the rights of others. That being said it is understandable slavery is not tolerated in any form in its borders. Any person who visits the kingdom had best leave their slaves at home if they them for they have the right to declare they are free and will gain full support from the local authorities.

Attitude: Knowledge is power is the axiom of Sidanthrans.  Personal freedom is highly prized here. Many people who have ousted from their own lands for what is considered abnormal by society can find a home here.  Even though they are non-violent for the most part and will welcome new provinces into their land by invitation they can be fierce warriors especially in cause they feel is just.

Silvermount: The land of the dwarves. Their world is a strange one filled with cliff houses and massive underground cities, mining some of the precious minerals found in the Silver Mountains. They tend to keep to themselves like the elves and disdain magik in all form. Dwarves do have a few human and even rumored orcs living among them.

Government: The dwarven government is ancestral consisting of a king and small ruling class. They have possibly the simplest in all of Iamoore

Religion: The dwarves tolerate all faith but are particularly fond of Mitra for his patronage to artificers and such.

Social: Dwarves care very little for wars though do enjoy trading. Not so much for profit to sell their finely crafts weapons and Armour considered being some of the best in the world. They take great pride in their work. They do sell to orcs not so much for profit but for the fine Nagla items they can obtain from them and precious gems to be used for their works of art.

Attitude: They are very tolerant of others and will accept most anyone into their community who is and artificer or blacksmith. They only wished to be left alone and most of Iamoore is more then willing to do just that.

Ten Thousand Kingdoms: Very little can be said here. This like Archeon was an area to the far north was devastated during the Gem Wars but even more so. It is a harsh cruel place and any who travel here do so at their peril.

Government: Warlords. The land as no central power but a number of warlords rule the area and even they can change from one day to the next. A man might rule only to be slain by another.

Religion: These people find little use for such things though Schetwine the god of war and chaos is followed most here.

Social: There is none to tell the truth. The rules change from one area to the next, as do the attitudes of the people. The only constant is all are extremely aggressive. Slaves are taken and worked till they drop dead.

Attitude: Might make right. These people live for the day and little else.  They live hard, fight hard and love hard.

Tymoria: While officially part of the Archeon Empire the small province is completely controlled by itself. Clans or families of assassins who have raised murder to an art form rule this unique land.
