Westchester County spend $2.7 MILLION on West Nile prevention, including $900,000 to dispense the insecticide Anvil from fogger trucks and $504,000 on public education.

Putnam County spent an estimated $280,000.

Dr. Bill suggests the reader review the numbers listed above paying attention to the  fact that only  13 batches of mosquitoes were found to be infected.

The county and state officials responsible for spraying have not yet addressed the numbers of humans showing acute problems associated with the spraying of Anvil.

More imortantly they have not addressed the actual % reduction of mosquitoes in the areas sprayed.

The chronic effects of exposure of the population to spraying - primarily aerial in 1999 and ground fogging in 2000 with the insecticide Anvil - will not be known for a couple of decades.

The fact remains - humans were sprayed - because birds are dying.
