Lake Wales Ridge State Forest, Philmont Prep Hike, April 1st & 2nd, 2006
Page 3
Though hiking down a road isn't the most interesting of trails, it sure beats all of the fine, sugar sand that we were hiking earlier, where each step only moves you 3/4 of the distance that a step on a  hard surface would!!

Maybe God gave us sugar sand, because he ran outa hills, mountains, and valleys, eh?
Just a couple of guys resting up after lunch!
When Mike and Gregg went to get Gregg's van from the south end of the loop trail, Mike's rental SUV (only two wheel drive) Got stuck in the sugar sand on the more direct route out to School Bus Road.

Gregg walked back the end of the several hundred feet to get the crew to help push the truck out.

Debbie, this is why Gregg's back might have been  burned...
The push out was successful and the truck took a different road out to School Bus Road to get the van.

Photographers call this EL Butt Shot Grande!!.
