Myakka River State Park Philmont Prep Hike February 14, 2006

We drove through a real mother of a rain storm to get Myakka State Park, but just as we pulled in, the rain dropped to a drizzle then stopped.  It was a warm, cloudy day with a slight breeze.  Perfect for hiking across the prairie and so unlike the last time some in our party had last hiked the prairie.  I hear it was a nasty hot day, the wrong time to be on a prairie!

Does it look like I painted those pants on Andrew in this shot?  Well I didn't!  I didn't have to, cause HE HAD PANTS ON!  Honest!  He was actually wearing those pants, no kidding!  It's a real good thing that there weren't any bulls out on this prairie! This was a pack off break we took on the prairie.

Here's a great shot of Debbie and Jim!  Debbie was the reason that Kendra was able to take this hike with us!  If Debbie hadn't volunteered  to come along, Kendra couldn't have come either.  So Kendra made her first hike with the Crew on this trip.  Thank You Debbie!

This is another break we took on the way to the Honore camp site, showing nearly the whole group.  Never mind Andrew's pants!
