Meet Our Venture Crew's Philmont Trek Co-Leader, Tracey
I am pleased to introduce Mrs. Tracey Mosley of Texas, also known as Birdie, and Karen, also known as Buffalo Butt or recently as Buffy, Tracey's best friend and fellow antagonist. Both are Moms, longtime Scouters and Wood Badgers. Tracey is a Bobwhite and Karen is a Buffalo. Tracey will be co-leading with Gregg Nuessly, Crew 2125's co-ed Crew to Philmont this summer. Oh, Tracey is on the right with the green eyes! She has been all through the Pack and Troop Programs and has lots of hiking and camping experience. Buffy'll stay home and graze a bit.

Tracey was all set to go to Philmont in July with her son Gage's Troop 52, when a mom who couldn't go, suddenly could, and Tracey stepped aside so that mom could attend with her son. In mid-March, Mr. Nuessly placed a notice on a Philmont message board looking for a female adult that was also an experinced backpacker, to go to Philmont with us in June. Buffy saw the notice when she got up to go to work the next morning and called Tracey while it was still dark, screaming that the message she had been hoping to find, had appeared!! Tracey emailed Mr. Nuessly and has now joined the Crew for Trek 31! Below are the some images and information that Tracey has kindly shared, so that we can get a jump start on getting to know her. BTW, the next part is ours; write to Tracey, if you haven't, welcome her and tell her a bit about yourself. You already have her email address. If you can't find it, email Mr. Nuessly or me |

This is Mr. Mosley, Tracey's ex-husband. We aren't sure exactly where he is and he doesn't matter anymore. The schmuck bugged out on on Tracey and his ex-family before Tracey left home to trek with us. Tracey was definitely READY to hike! Tracey and Buffo were running several miles a week and racing up and down stadium steps on the other nights! |

The big guy on the left in the longhorns cap, isn't Matt, it's Gage, 16, Tracey's oldest son, who is an Eagle Scout. In front of Tracey is Chandler, her younger son, a Bear Scout in Pack 54 when we were getting ready for Philmont. And to Tracey's right in the BSA cap is, never mind.... The family, plus schmucko, is visiting the Grand Canyon in this shot. |

Now, I want you to know that Tracey is one tough lady!! In her own words, "I had a bad accident when I was a kid, so I have a lot of scars. When I was 7, I had my hair in pigtails and I was driving my gocart when my hair got caught in the engine and it ripped out one whole pigtail. Ihad a decompressed skull fracture and I was unconscious for several days. After lots of surgeries (lucky for me I had a massive amount of hair) they were able to almost completely enclose my baldspot. I had to have skin graphs, that's what's left the scars. I have millions of tiny bone fragments in my brain, but I'm still somewhat normal!! Since then I have rode a wheelie on a motorcycle through a tree and had it flip upside down and land on me. That took a nice hunk out of the femur. I didn't make a jump over a black camp box at camp, my toe got hung as I was crossing a box and I completely tore my ACL in half, and ripped the cartildge off my kneecap, then I climbed to the top of the mountain, because I had worked hard to become a Brotherhood member of OA and a little pain wasn't going to stop me. I went to the surgeon and told him he had two weeks to fix me, because I had a week of (Cub Scout) Day Camp and a week of Summer Camp coming up. He told me I wasn't (next page)
