Dorchester International Brotherhood Camporee
Niagra Falls Geocaching DIBC offical website |
This was the 15th year for the Dorchester International Brotherhood Camporee. Venture Crew 97 has been on staff for the last 5 years. DIBC was created to give Canadian and American Scouts, both male and female, a chance to learn new skills, while engaging in some friendly competition. There are over 100 activities and skill areas all day on Saturday. Venture Crews help by staffing many of the activities. Food is cooked on site for staff. We also have warm showers, and indoor toliet facilities! The first 3 years that the Crew attended DIBC, we went up on Thursday evening. The Camporee is held in Dorchester, Ontario, which is near London, Ontario. On Friday, we would drive about 2 hours to the Canadian side of Niagra Falls. It is a great place to visit. We took the Maid of The Mist boat tour, went to the IMAX theatre, and toured the lovely gardens. 2003 and 2004 found us geocaching Friday morning, and helping set up the games and skill areas on Friday afternoon. 2003 also started the traditional "Eat Pizza in London" on Thursday evening. |
