Cleophus Prince, Jr.

Beginning at the start of 1990, Cleophus Prince, Jr., stalked the Clairemont community of San Diego undetected, killing women that lived literally next door.

While living at the Buena Vista Garden apartement complex Prince murdered three women who also lived there. In January Tiffany Schultz was stabbed to death and in April Janene Weinhold met the same fate. Later in April Holly Tarr from Okemos, Michigan, who was visiting her brother at is apartment, was killed. Prince was interrupted during this murder but escaped unidentified by pulling his shirt over his head and running, knocking over a maintenace man during is escape. Moving on after that, Prince killed Elissa Keller in her Clairemont home. The area was in a panic, and the media was in a frenzy over "The Clairemont Killer".

Prince's next kills, and his last, were the murders of Pamela and Amber Clark in University City. The mother and daughter were killed in their home in September of 1990. Cleophus Prince, Jr., lived with a girlfriend next door to the victims. Suspicion finally began to fall on Prince, however, and he was arrested and eventually found guilty of all six murders on July 13, 1993. Sentenced to death, he awaits his fate on San Quentin's death row at this writing.
