The lake of the 'Gavers' is still largely frozen today due to a longer period with frosty weather. One special bird to remember today was a adult Kittiwake, sadly an oil stained. This is my first sighting of this species at this locality. At least two more records of this species have been noted earlier. It is indeed rare to see this bird so far inland: this mostly occurs after days of strong Northerly winds. A few other pictures of common birds taken at the same locality today are shown.
