They also believe that it is a good time for cleansing. Upon the arrivial of the New Moon their Magickal powers are at their weekest and is a time for rest and relfection. |

| The New Moon This moon phase is only visible during a solar eclips. Its dark side faces earth when the moon is new. |

| The Waxing Crescent Moon This phase's illumination is less then one half of the moon and it's illumination comes from sunlight hitting it directly. |

| First Quarter Moon When direct sunlight only illuminates one half of the moon. |

| Waxing Gibbous When the moon is more then half way illuminated by direct sumlight, about 3 quarters lit. |

| Full Moon When the moons fully illuminated side faces the earth. The moon is completely illuminated by the direct sunlight. |

| Warning Gibbous When the moon more then half way illuminated by the direct sunlight from the other side. The illumination is decreasing. |

| Last Quarter One half of the moon is illuminated by the direct sunlight from the other side. It is decteasing. |

| When the moon is Waxing its illumination is increasing, when it is Waning it is Descreasing. The phases of the Moon are caused by actural positions of the Mon and the Sun. This determines how much of the moon is illuminated in corrispondace with the psoition of the sun at a given time. |
