untitled Titanic poem

I hear your voice,
softly in the night.
Like a moth to the light,
I am drawn to hear your words.

You tell me your story,
many times retold.
You show me a world,
so different from my own.

We fly through time,
back to the past.
I see your world through you,
seen through your eyes.

I feel your pride,
I feel your happiness.
Your fate I am mindful of,
a dark shadow in my mind.

I feel your pain,
I feel your fear.
Your life slowly ebbing away,
a fatal wound at fault.

I see you die,
I hear your cries.
I want to end it all,
I cry for you.

I see you once more,
a mere shell.
Former beauty gone,
shattered.

Your memory lives on,
in my heart always.
Your name lives on,
in my heart always.

I've seen your world,
I've heard your words.
Your legacy I'll continue,
your story will always be remembered.
